My arm has been twisted, and I just Downloaded GW from UBOOT REALSIMULATION. I do have a question though. There are 6 parts to the mod itself, plus the 1.1 update, as well as the 1.1 1024 and overlay fix. I was planning on useing the JSGME to activate this mod. After the mod is copied to the "Mods" folder in JSGME, how do I incorporate the 1.1 update as well as the overlay fix? Do I also copy them to the "Mods" folder and activate them as well? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I just installed GW myself, and only dl'd parts 1-6 also. I also have the same question about what else to dl'd on this page Realsim.com GW Page (http://mpgweb.de/01/) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif
BTW, I am very impressed so far, I did not think my slow *** computer could handle it. Then again, I haven't encountered a convoy yet.
RJ was right, anyone who does not have GW, should. It will BLOW YOU AWAY. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

According to the Grey Wolves FAQ (http://www.users.on.net/%7Ejscones/TGW/FAQ.html):

"The Grey Wolves is intended to be installed over a CLEAN, UNMODDED installation of Silent Hunter III, patched to v1.4b. The Grey Wolves download is cumulative, meaning that it includes all prior releases."

That implies to me that you only need to download the GW1.1a files from the Grey Wolves Supermod site (http://www.users.on.net/%7Ejscones/TGW/#dl). However, it is unclear what version of GW is on the u-boat.realsimulation downloads page (http://mpgweb.de/01/), or whether it contains any extra files to the GW mod proper.

It's all most confusing.

PS: Downloading from the GW European FTP mirror has the added advantage that you can use a download manager such as GetRight. This essential facility seems missing from the u-boat.realsimulation site.

Just extract all six archives and the update in a new folder (ex. GreyWolves), and after that move the folder in your data folder created by JSGME and you`re ready to go. Have fun, GW is a great mod.

I finished combining all the parts into one folder as per the readme. In my folder named "GW" which is on my desktop, there are two additional folders: "DATA", and "GW MODS and DOCUM". These folders are all updated and ready to go. My question now is, do I copy both of these folders into the "MODS" folder created by JSGME to activate? Please tell me it's that easy! Thanks again.

That's what I wanted to hear! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif Will have to wait until the current patrol useing RUB is over, so I could deactivate that mod, and join the Grey Wolves! Thanks for your help.

When you finally get GW installed, your socks are going to be knocked off. GW is out of this world, like a brand new game. They should have called GW SH3.5 !

This is a great utility which is used to install mods. It backs up all original files for you, so if you want to uninstall the mod, all the original files are restored.

Another quick question for Dragos: Don't want to be a pain in the @ss, but how do you choose which of those optional mods from the GW mods and docum. that you want activated? I certainly don't want the Swastica removal mod, since I love to be historical. are you given a choice "in game" as to which you want? Not sure how that works. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

My mistake man, sorry http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif You have to make separate folders for the bonus mods and activate them separately with JSGME. Try it and if you have problems post here and we`ll see what we can do http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

1.1a is 1.0 with the fixes and it installs by simply running the exe. Also you have an option screen that allows you to include/exclude certian features such as the underwater textures. 1.1a is much simpler to install. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
