Bearcat, you never fail to come up with some of the best off-site links. I am wondering if MS putting more money in the hands of ATI for console developement will ultimately lead to faster cards for the PC.

It's going to be an interesting decade . . .

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I wonder how this PCI express thing will work out. I am also wondering if eventually quality sims will make it to game consoles. At the moment I cant see it but the groundwork is there. My very first HOTAS setup was with a Sega system..the original..there was a game called F-15 fighting falcon and you could set it up to use both controllers to fly with...a game pad HOTAS. Of course the graphics were blocks.....light blue sky..dark blue ground etc...but hey it was a start.

PCI Express is away of making a computer faster ... basically

its TOTALLY the way for computers to go (which is the way they are going)

it transports info faster with less hold-ups along the way as well ..... its going to be excellent

the next gen graphicscards are due out in 1st 1/4 of this year

twin GPU ....... 512 Mb RAM (DDR)

simply UBER ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Never touched a gaming machine or "console" or whatever, if they did flight sims, could they be programmed with a mission editor and stuff, or just canned missions.

For arcade games, I can see how "console" is great, but can the "Console" developers make games with historical simulation of air warfare missions, and can the missions be changed by the user? (never mind the arcade dogfight set)

I doubt it... unless of course the gaming console and the PC/multimedia station become one and the same.
