I know MS created DirectX and OGL is more generic, but what would be the better to use for FB? I have a Athlon XP2600+ and a 9800Pro and 1GB DDR.

What do you guys use?

Pretty sure open GL is an nvidia (3dfx, but nvidia bought out 3dfx?) thing, so if you have an ATI card, go with DirX.

Take OpenGL ANY time
This game is optimized for it (and DX is just a "wrapper" = its an interface "around" OpenGL...

ONLY on OpenGL is "perfect" mode possible...

I have a REAL low-level system http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

P4 1.7Ghz Ti4800SE ViVo (bad mark too) and about 17fps on 1024x768x32 with all MaX-ed out (perfect mode) in this mission before getting over a chimney nest (smoke and all) - then it drops to 5fps http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Nope they won't lol

I tried LockOut - hahaha

A Friend of mine bought it - so I tried to install it - NO LUCK lol

The demo wasn't that great either http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Ah well - it's IL-2 series that stole my heart http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And I did run allmost every flight sim you can imagine (I got an old printer-carton full of flightsim CD's)...

Imagine that...

And I "flew" flight sims since TRS80 FS1 from Sublogic (that evolved into Micro$ucks FS2004 etc and FCS ...)

1. You cannot select "Perfect" for landscape detail under DirextX, because . . .

2. The code is optimized for OpenGL, and . . .

3. ATI, or Nvidia, doesn't matter, they both render OpenGL rather well. That's why it is available under the control panel of either card.

Good Luck, Mate
