When I activate the lvl stabilizator it drops steady down on the alt. Why dos not the plane stay on the current altitude?

Good question, as this issue isn't new, was also a problem in FB.

The most funny thing is, while the B-25, the He-111 and the AI B-17 G drop down when the stabilizer is activated, the AI G4M Betty actually GAINS altitude. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I think it all depends on your bomb load. I've noticed sometimes gaining height with a low load on the HE111(4xAB500), and losing height with the max load. I kinda just figure it in on my target approach.

the trim still works when the auto level is on. try adding max positive trim. it always worked for me on the he-111.

Thx gents for your feedback, will try the trim when on lvl to see if I can get it to stay at current alt http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Tested out to gain trim to maintaine alt, but pushing it to max the stick moves and you get some less drop but it still drops down on alt...

Thats goes also when you are light on bombs....

Bump.

This is why I never flew more than one mission in the He-111 campaign in FB and it's annoying that it's still an issue.

I consider it a bug.

I've noticed this too. Trim only stops it a little.

I'd like to be able to use the rudder when in stable mode, so I can slew the plane onto target.

An easy way around this is just to deploy combat flaps while you running with the level stablizers on. this will slow you down a bit but it will do a good job of trimming out
the bomber long enough to switch to then bomb
site and make your drop.

Future you should have rememberd that. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

So does the level stabiliser just make the plane fly at 0degrees to the horizon, although that makes the aircraft descend?

coppers' combat flaps suggestion works well on the b-25. i've never needed it for the he-111.
