Anyone here fly with background music as well as the usual sound effects?. I've discovered that listening to the Ramones somehow dramatically increases my kills online. Don't know why. After a few drinks it seems to help. A few drinks also makes me post pointless things on forums.

sure, but not when i play with my friends, TS and mp3's aint a good combination http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

but when i am not flying with them a good playlist with some good Punk Rock is the best http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

and that is NOFX!!

Music is second best way to kill immersion, right after corny engine noises. We already are forced to live with one of them; I cannot imagine deliberately inflicting the other one upon one's self.

Ramones http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif I've just began to explore their music, but it really gives a boost http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I don't care for the music...I've tried to disable it in the sound set-up but have been unsucessful. Help me!

I've actually put a wind gusting sound file in the tracks folder to give some nice ambience while flying instead of the usual engine drone.

I have the vac(voice activated command)setup strictly for my music. When i say music the music starts up and its like i have a stereo in my plane. I have several songs named accordingly and all i have to do is say the name and bingo i have music playin.

I can't abide music while flying. Immediately brings to mind those awful, corny Iron Eagle movies; and of course, Top Gun.

The only music you need is the thrum of the engine and the rattle of the guns.

I thought I'd put this back on the front page as the "if this forum had a jukebox" seemed so popular.

I prefer nothing, but I also have a nice ww2 music play list, even with news breaks from Orphan Ann (aka, one of the "Tokyo Roses").

Never tended to listen to much whilst flying but I like a good tune when I am back at the hanger with a whisky and my woman http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I love music, but not when I fly. I find it very distracting.

I made up a couple of playlists of WWII period songs that I sometimes listen to while on the early and late legs of those long flights to and from my assigned target areas in my trusty Bf-110 or IL-2 - one for listening to "Radio Wehrmacht" and one for "Red Army Radio", which I persuaded each of my crew chiefs to tune some unused channels on my radios to so I could pick up those broadcasts meant for the poor footsloggers. It helps to while away the time on those long flights, though of course I always tune my radio back to my flight's assigned frequencies when I get closer to the target or if we get jumped by enemy fighters along the way http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

A bit of Dorothy Lamour. BoB era pilots liked her apparently...
