Normally, I don't make new threads on any forum but in light of the recent surge of PC threads being posted, I thought i'd post this blip about a panel including crackpot industry analyst Michael Pachter and Ubisoft North America president Laurent Detoc.

Here's a link to the whole story as posted on Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6189082.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;2) but the thing that made post this thread was this juicy morsel:

Pachter brought up Ubisoft as one company that might have a master plan of that scope, telling Detoc that playing through Assassin's Creed, it was obvious to him that the publisher had the next five installments of the series already planned out. Detoc knew better than to confirm Assassin's Creed 2 through 6, but he did strike his best Dr. Evil impression, silently raising an extended pinky to his smirking mouth.

Anyway, you heard it here first... AC will be a... hexalogy... or a sextet, depending on how you want to say it.

It's possible there could be six. I mean, with the time period changing thing, they could make it anything, anywhere, there's endless possibilities. The only thing linking the games could be the number in the title, if not nothing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

But I want my next gen PoP before the next AC *pout*

I could see it, definitely. I doubt they could stretch this arc through six installments, but I could see a second story arc for a second trilogy.

MGS4 is the 7th Metal Gear game
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the 8th Rainbow Six game (not counting the South Korea-only "Take-Down")
Splinter Cell: ConViction is the 5th Splinter Cell game (and they've registered domain names www.splintercell6.com (http://www.splintercell6.com) through www.splintercell8.com) (http://www.splintercell8.com))
GRAW2 is the 4th Ghost Recon game

I can easily see Assassin's Creed making it to 6 installments.

Because MGS4 didn't follow the whole story throughout the seven games did it? And RS... well that doesn't really have a story http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif It's early days though, why would they say they're planning to make it six when number two isn't even out?

Perhaps the usage of the nice round number "5" was just exaggeration. Like when your mother says "If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times..."
