I'm getting back into Silent Hunter III after a long time since i finally got a laptop that could actually run the game/sim.

first, what's new and are must-have mods?

Second and the MAIN question: does Silent Hunter III support widescreen. I know the highest was like 1024x768, but did anyone at least get the ratio to work correctly?

Thanks!

The most significant (and popular) mods you should check out are 'Improved U-boat' and 'Grey Wolves'. They are both supermods - in other the words, they are large collections of mods that have been tried and tested together to ensure compatibility. The variety and quality of mods selected for IUB and GW will transform your whole SH3 experience!

I know there is a way to change SH3's default 1024x768 resolution ( see here (http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Display_Resolution)), but I don't think anyone has mentioned a way of making the game run in a different aspect ratio, i.e. widescreen.

Thanks for the tips but the ratio still looks weird. Does anyone know how to change it to the correct ration (1.6) for widescreen. resolution 1440x900.

so you also have the incorrect ratio 1.6 during gameplay right? That sucks, how come SH3 doesn't support widescreens?!

You're lucky that you can even run it at a higher resolution than 1024x768! Don't work fer me. BTW if it did, I would run in widescreen - 1920x1200.
