I have no idea how they have the nerve to call it the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. I mean a Lancaster and a MK9 Spitfire ... come on?

A few years back there was a Blenheim flying. I remember there was a guy on TV saying that he didn't want to crash it because they were running out of spares. Shortly afterwards he stalled it and bent back the propellers.

He did a bit more than just bend the props! It was a write off!

As the second Blenheim also crashed recently, i am not sure which incident you are talking about, but to put you straight, there was NO STALL involved in either crash.

And as for the Lanc in the BBMF, well, maybe you would prefer the 'Dresden/Cologne raid memorial flight'?? No, I didn't think so!!

I used to live in Tayport, just up the road from Leuchars. Always enjoyed the show every year.

Have fun, and take loads of pictures,

I have actually sat in the pilot's seat in the Lancaster.

It was pretty cramped.

Great stuff Flyboy /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I'm currently in negotiations with "she who must be obeyed" regarding transport and funding. Soapy mark II might come along too /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

My dad spent 3 years (1953-56) based at Leuchars. It was by far his favourite posting.

No, I didn't guess it, but if you're married, I know what your wife is doing. She's going to your mother-in-law's!!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

One foggy morning I walked around the wreckage of the first Blenheim crash, when what was left of it, was lying on Denham golf course.Really spooky lying there in the fog.

As for the Lanc, howbout 'Royal Air Force Memorial Flight'
