View Full Version : 3D Details Revealed for Assassin’s Creed Revelations!

Mr_Shade

We are really trying to avoid making the cliché “into a whole new dimension” remark, but it’s true: Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be playable in 3D on Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 and NVIDIA® 3D Vision™ PCs! This is the first time that an Assassin’s Creed game will have full 3D support on all three platforms.

Thanks to TriOviz Inficolor 3D support, both Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3 players will be able to experience Assassin’s Creed Revelations in three dimensions… without a 3DTV!

Leaps of faith are going to blow your mind in 3D, Assassins

But, basically - it's using your normal TV and special glasses to provide 3D http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I screamed a little. "considered" getting a PC (and probably some extra gadgets?) for the 3D experience, but some 30€ glasses are a bit better alternative. Didn't even know about this technology, ordering ASAP.

Will look bad-*** with my Tritton headset and these. My GF must never know.

Wait... Wait... Wait....

So I order the glasses and just the glasses for €30,-.
I play AC:R, I enable the 3D option i some settings menu or something in the game, i put on the glasses.
And then I should be able to see 3D with normal colors? :O

Is that really true or just a salesman talk>?

Serrachio

I don't see the point in paying €30 just to see a silly visual effect on my television.

3D adds nothing to games and is really insignificant to entertainment.

People need to stop flaming 3D. It's not like its being forced upon you, you're being given the option. Same as films, most of them have 2d showings too.

And Norway. Theyre also "soon" starting shipping to US. Weird if UBI has cool stuff (and might I say: revolutionary) and just a fraction of their base can enjoy it. <insert something about signature edition>

Seriously, at least include some paper ones to the game.

I saw it coming with the "stereoscopic" in the beta menu, but that it would work on my TV is just too cool... If I could get my hands in those glasses.

I know it's not being forced on me, but it's also not that special either, so I don't get why it's being touted as revolutionary when it's just a cheap gimmick.

"cheap" is the magic word, Serrachio. As in no way will I ever buy a 1000$ 3D tv, but a measly 30€ to get an ever so slightly cool effect on my gaming, it's worth it. I bought a 300$ headset for surround on ACB alone, and never looked back, so 30€ is decent when I can rock out with mah BBC bluerays aswell.

IF it's as good as they say.

Can this glasses be ordered from somewhere else?Or just in this site http://www.trioviz.com/ ??

It offers nothing beneficial, so paying 30€ for a visual effect is a cheap gimmick in my opinion.

That being said, if you want to pay for it, be my guest.

Yes. You will, however, need the Nvidia 3D Vision pack and a compatible Nvidia graphics card in combination with a 3D capable monitor.

Now... do I also need an HDMI 1.4 cable for the Inficolor 3D? I'm looking forward to getting a pair of those glasses, and I'd sure like to know if I'll also need to get a new cable...

so even if my pc had 3dVision (which it doesn't, since have an ATI card), and a 3D monitor (i think it supports 3d, not sure), would i still need 3D glasses?

If so, then i'#d have to pass, since i can't use them because of my eyesight problem.

Yes, you'd have to use 3D glasses :/
Sadly, autostereoscopic TVs and monitors aren't available yet (or, at least very rare and very expensive). Although, smartphones and the 3DS already have it...

So why are you so bothered? You're obviously not going to be buying the glasses nor are you interested in it, and it's not going to change how the game pans out for you, and you're also not going to change the fact that it's available as an optional extra.

Some people like the 3D idea, some people don't. You're the don't, so would it not be best to just drop it and leave the topic because it doesn't concern you?

According to the info at hand, all you need is the game, a HDTV running the game in HD (for best image) and the special glasses.

It may work on a standard TV however due to the blurry images results may not be as expected.

No new hardware is needed, other than your current HD setup, since it's the games role to display a special coloured image on screen, which with the glasses produces a 3D effect in the game.

You will need to enable the correct setting in game and you may need to adjust the TV's colour settings to produce the best results - but you won't need to buy any new cables http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But as always support may have more details than I do, so I would go with what they say http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

How much is 30 Euros in Canadian/American dollars? Probably willing to drop that amount on the glasses because I'm pretty sure the conversion rate is around 1.6

Either way, I would love Ubi if glasses (even ones that don't work amazingly well) came with the Signature Edition.

The glasses are quite cheap actually, compared to 3DTV glasses (not to mention the TV.)

You would set it up by selecting the 3D mode in-game, and wearing the glasses. Editing the colour scheme and contrasts on your TV would probably make the experience better, but likely wouldn't be necessary.

I don't see how it's a gimmick. It's not a trick to get other peoples attention, it's an extra effect people can opt for if they enjoy it.

Yes, but they use the same kind of lenses. They only produce one kind of lens. The lens may be stronger material on the plastic ones, but they are still the same to the paper ones. The company mass produces paper ones as well as plastic. So there is no reason that it would not work for Revelations.

Personally, I don't think 3D is going to catch on at all. The original launch of it, in Avatar, was a 'Well, that's cool.' moment, but I don't think it's worth the massive amounts of extra money.

I agree, it enhances the experience slightly. There will be a couple of moments (Like leap of faith or free running) where the 3D might make me smile. But I definitely wouldn't be bothered if I didn't get it in 3D, because I love AC amazingly as it is.

30 Euro for a VERY slight TOUCH of SLIGHTLY enhanced visual experience, just isn't worth it. I have to pay for AC myself, every year, by earning the money by helping out my neighbours. A pair of stupid glasses is almost another damned game, so not a chance I'm buying them.

Avatar wasn't even close to the original launch of 3D, it just revolutionized it and brought it to a newer level. I think it's great that Ubisoft puts in another option that makes the game even more immersing- it is optional remember. I'm sure paper glasses or something of the sort will be included in the box- because there would be little point in adding the feature if it's only accessible in Europe.

You really have no idea of 3D LAWL... this glasses are not worth it -.- 30€ for a glasses that does the same **** that you do with parper for no more then 2€ O.o

Real 3D is the stereoscopic one, i don't know how far it's availiable for ps3/xbox but acR's pc version will support that. You need a 3DTV (tv with 120hz) that can cost 300€ or over, a nvidia gpu (a nvidia gpu equal to an ati gpu costs about 30€ more due to 3D and physixs) and the special nvidia glasses that costs 120€.

That 3D is just the best 3D we will ever get... It's just up to devs to develope it well :P

It's not cheap but it's more worth then 30 bunks for that **** 3D those glasses offer you.

This trioviz stuff isn't the same type as the old red and blue 3d is it?

I'm pretty sure it's a bit better than that. But not completely positive.

If it's only 30$ and it's better than the OLD tech then that's pretty awesome.

The new tech for 3D is pretty cool but nothing special. People thinking it'll go away are probably wrong.

It'll probably just keep getting better and televisions will keep getting thinner till were just watching a hologram LOL.

It's based on the same idea, but refined more.

Any 3D effect on a normal non 3D TV - will have to be via that method, if there is no extra equipment needed.

The glasses are a special tint - so different from others such as 'red &blue' or 'real3d' so those glasses won't work, but the game keeps more of the original colour etc.

I have had some news for people in North America though -

According to the US team - you should get a free pair of the paper glasses - IF you pre-ordered from Amazon online.

You should check with amazon if you have pre-ordered with them though, just in case. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Does anyone know if glasses are included in Arkham City? Can´t confirm this anywhere, and on the cover here in Norway, there´s no mention of 3D, unlike in US stores.

Hoping I´m not getting ripped off here, just ordered the Trioviz. Oh, you can now order to anywhere, I presume, since two days ago they didn´t ship to Norway.

Arkham City and Revelations in 3D, this will be too awesome.

Edit: Also, can anyone confirm that 3D is for multiplayer as well? Shold be, but surround sound on ACB is in SP only, so never know.

No. The TriOviz glasses have special green+magenta glasses, those from the cinema are different :/

Ok. So I bought Batman: Arkham City and I don't have a 3D TV, but the Inficolour works on it. Basically all you do is switch it on and the screen changes to the old-school 3D. The only difference is that instead of using the red/blue system it uses a green/magneta system. TriOviz sell these glasses, but I am having alot of trouble tracking them down (I live in Australia), so I thought I would try to make my own using celophane. (I'll let you know how it goes). The TriOviz are the better option, because it is not only about the right colors on the glasses but also about the solarisation on each lens specific to anaglyphic stereoscopic 3D. To learn more about it see here:

Yeah I have bought a pair of Triovix glasses from amazon.co.uk and am waiting for them to arrive.
Does the 3d gaming effect the colors? I remember when I tried to watch a 3d film and the colouring was bad. I saw a lot of green on the screen.

It worries me that they didnt play MP in 3D.

Edit: supposedly, no colorloss is whats good about this kind of 3D technology. Ordered mine directly from Trioviz a week ago, but don't think they've even shipped them yet. Maybe I should cancel and order from amazon instead.

yeah from the time I ordered from amazon, it took them about 3 days to ship it.

^^Just sent them a mail to hear if they had any news (or reasons for why they haven´t even sent them yet). If I don´t like their response, or if they take too long, I´ll cancel and get them from Amazon instead. No mercy for the weak, since I´m already halfway through Arkham City in boring, old 2D.

Thanks for the tip!

Well when I ordered from amazon it said that the estimated delivery date is between the 25th October till about the 11th November.
I have recieved my dispatch email ofc, but I guess it could arrive anytime. It's a bit strange about the delivery estimates but it is being shipped externally from Trioviz still. Amazon only sort out the order. Anyway I will reply when my glasses arrive, which could be anytime from tomorrow I guess.

That does it! Still haven't even gotten a reply on my mail, so I'm off to cancel, and re-order through Amazon. Thanks for the update!

I also received my pair of TriOviz glasses today. I ordered them two days ago through Amazon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Until now, I could only test them with a few videos on YouTube. I'll have to say, it takes some time to get used to; at first I could clearly see the magenta/green layers. But after watching for a couple of minutes, it all looks natural. Almost zero colour distortion; didn't expect that. I guess I'll download a video and try messing around with the colours on my TV. There's a little sheet that explains how to get the best experience (it also says to turn sharpness completely down; VERY bad idea I must say).

I think I'm going to wait a bit before purchasing some TriOviz glasses. As much as I would love to play Assassins Creed in the glorious 3D, I'm always a bit weary of 3D glasses, especially coloured ones such as these. I'm just wondering whether it would be possible to play for several hours in one go or whether you'd have to keep having breaks to prevent eye strain or damage. I'm not that knowledgeable on the subject of 3D.

Losing my mind, here. Cancelled the order with Trioviz to order through Amazon, and as it turns out they won´t ship them to my country.

Anyone know of any other shops to ship these?

Also, those of you who´ve received yours, have you tried them with Arkham City yet?

The game has the 3D option built in, so all you need are the TriOviz glasses, which you can find on various sites - as well as a HDTV [of course].

I was talking about the TriOviz technology 3D...

I know i can have 3D with nvidia and i'm aiming for doing that when the crysis end (i'm out of money for new GPU + TV + Glasses).

But if AcR comes with this tech for PC i might be buying googles with my friends so we can all make atleast 1 playthought with the glasses

I got my glasses yesterday. Turned out Trioviz shipped them without notice, so I just assumed they had forgotten about me. Took about three weeks, so if you want them by ACR release I'd go for amazon if they ship to your country.

I tried them out on Arkham City and I think they're absolutely awesome. A definite 3D effect far better than the old movies including glasses, and as promised, no color-loss. Most awesome during grappling and big overviews, compared to close combat, but even here theres a distinct effect. Highly recommended, and can't wait to do LoF's!!

No, the magenta-green glasses that are easy to find and cheap on the Internet have the colors on the opposite eyes compared to the TriOviz Inficolor ones.

I have read that you can use the paper/cardboard ones that have the colors on the opposite eyes if you turn them "inside out" and they will work, but I have no idea how well they work. I wouldn't get any that aren't actually for TriOviz, myself.

I tried them out too, and yes the 3d effect is cool. I haven't bothered wearing them all the time though. I can't play long play sessions with a pair of glasses on.
It will be interesting to see how Revelations handles the 3d. The LOF's should be sweet.

I have read everyone discussing the green magneta glasses. But I had these expensive ones given to me and I have never used them. They are 2 black lenses. When I used them they turned out better than the standard glasses. Could these possibly work or is it simply the trioviz ones only?

Those glasses do work, just the effect isn't as strong as it would been with the Tri0viz ones. Any red and cyan glasses will work, just the effect isn't as strong. I've played with both cheap card ones and plastic ones.
