Ive done the damageprofile again but this time on a stationary aircraft.

From a HE-111 I could fire all ammo without killing the Allied fighter if shoot at from 300-400m, but if fired on from 100 m I could kill it with 50 rounds.
The same with the DB, it was much more effective at closer range.
I dont know the mix between AP,HE in the gun, but the penetration of a 20mm AP wouldnt be that different in 100 compared to 300-400 m.
An old AP projectile, Wolfram hardcore Vo 800m/s 90dgr impact would penetrate 2-5 cm steel armour closer than 500m, depending on the quality of the steel.

The P-47, the Spit and as comparison the FW-190D.
They where AI so their damagprofile isnt comparable.
The P-47 was hardest to kill (no kill ammo finished), next was the spit(one kill) and the D9 was easiest to kill(two kills).
At short range all a/c where killed so fast that it was impossible to say what hit killed it.

I'm pretty sure all the guns on a He-111 are .30 caliber except for the nose gun on the H-6. That might explain why it wasn't killing them at longer range.
