Pilots!

This is war sim...and he pretends, to represent the historical reality.
The online Dogfight is realy greatest thing which I have seen in Internet era.
But Mr.Oleg have one omission. Here it is:
We still can see online combat like this:
I 153 vs Me 163
Mustangs vs La 5 etc.

When I see this I feel grief, Maaaaaaaaaaaaan..WHYYYYYYYY?..THIS IS REALY BAD TASTE!!!
I know that it is possible somebody like the host to lock the plane set..but this is not obligatory, for the host.
So:
Mr.Oleg!
Please create one good software barrier for those who would like to see I 16 in online dogfight against Me 262. Let the kids drive this set only offline at home!
Serious wartime pilots like me will admire You!
How to do it? Like this:
Create first some historical time frame brackets for the aircraft sets:
[1939-1941]
[1940-1942]...
...so by this way it will be imposible to see this regrettable online misunderstanding!

You could do something about it your self. Yup... don't join those servers. Don't blame the host.
Tomorrow you will ask Oleg to remove padlock from the game. Oops you didn't noticed that aren't you? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
And the topic title could be improved also.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have killed more Me262's while in an I-16-24, then while in all other planes combined that I have killed Me-262's in. In kind I have never been shot down in a pre-1940 plane by a jet.

Additionally, my very first kill in AEP was while flying a J8 was....The kill?....a P80...

Why would you wan't to not have those planes meet?...How else are these futurama Jet Jocks going to learn that one wing and no props is just a passing fad...

*dusts off her SPAD XIII*...uh huh...*nods sage like*

All bragging aside however, such odd match-ups did happen though perhaps not that extreme where old wore out obsolete planes were still being utilized by one side or both. Heck, take a C47/DC3 or JU57...was old when it started....yet some still fly them today (DC3 not sure if any tri-motors are left)...Go figure.

Would You like to see F-16 or SR-71 "Black bird" against Bf 109E3 in Oleg's Battle of Britain!?
The real birdman will drive this, what is given to him from the Fatherland!

"...Wooden aircraft-Iron Pilots!"

Think again........before to start to throw stones, mud and fire at Your brother!

Fly co-ops instead - more fun than dogfights and (usually) based much more in historical reality http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Dogfights are really more for the game side of the sim, so I don't see why you're surprised that you see odd match-ups.

Look and you shall find.
OR Use the FMB and make DF maps then host a game
on HL. I host all the time with different fronts and plane sets. Axis Vs Allied Crimia42,DAK41 and so on. Almost every night you can find a room hosting somthing of the like.

I've said it before. Oleg is not responsible for how you play your game. If someone wants to fly Me262's against I-16's that his perogative. I don't like it so I don't fly on his server. Simple and everyone's happy. This is a game, not a dictatorship.

One small question regarding your sig's "flying one", what's the story behind it? I hope you're not about to start yet another JG1 squadron - that wouldn't be historical... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

So take the power away from the users is what your suggesting? Because I'm completely against this idea altogether. Aside from the problems of actually creating the planesets that work in multiple ways it makes things so restrictive that you can't do anything interesting.

My Operation Autumn Storm map on UK-Dedicated would for instance cease to be because the planeset probably isn't likely to be programmed in. Whats that planset you say? In late 1945 the Russians attacked Japanese forces during what was known as Autumn Storm. The planes used ranged from Lend Lease P-63Cs which were new on the front to old staples including the I-16 and early Yak variants. On the other side of the equation, Zeros, J2M Raidens, and a few Ki models (Oscars and a few Franks) were the order of the day. It was a totally unconventional planeset and likely one to be restricted under this idea...and yet its PERFECTLY historical.

I'm a history buff...but I will not stand in the way of others to do as they please. Some servers run historical maps (UK-Dedicated, the old F_16 server, and others) while others do not. Let them be free to do as they choose to do....you on the other hand should find places that you'd rather fly instead of trying to dictate to others on how they should run their own scenarios and servers.

No reason to get worked up here.
I dont think Hptm.Keule understands what he
is asking or how to find what he is looking for.
Lets point him in the right direction.
Does anyone realy think the Oleg would lock
Axis Vs Allied. Never gonna happen!

So when the hellcat and bear cat and p51 met mig15s in korea they should be locked out from such unreal world stuff and the p51 in isreal agaisnt tanks and jets --unreal--- and the ad9 prop plane in NAM against mig21s WOW such unreal stuff again.

i find shooting a jet in the i153 a great feeling not bad for a biplane. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Giving the P-51 vs La5 is a strange example. Since Kozhedub shot down two P-51's in his La.

I have to agree with him.
Historically this game is a mess.
I mean really, How come when I shoot down that pilot in flames and it kills the pilot, he's back flying again 2 min later!!???
How realistic is that? I say one death and you can never play again.
And how come my shots don't actually KILL my opponent?
Give me a break

While we're at it, a lot of the late war German planes should be grounded for a day or two, unflyable at all on your PC due to lack of fuel. Are you with me, brothers and sista's? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Yes!! The game should give you a 20000volt zap through your joystick when you are shot down. That would be much more realistic....

Just one important point that you yourself pointed out:

This is a GAME!!!!

This is NOT REAL COMBAT.

If this were real, whenever you got shot down, you would shoot yourself in the head with a gun by the side of your rig!!

But the fact that you can hit refly, and choose any aircraft you want, which are all entirely free from any degradations such as poor fuel quality, bad engine parts, or old engines, or misfiring and jaming guns, etc, etc, all points to the fact that you are playing a game.

What does this mean? It means you can fly whatever you want, wherever you want against whomever you want. Pretty neat, huh?
