Very nice!

I noticed in the two P40 ground attack shots that the town looks very stark. No shadows or anything. I think the current version of IL2 looks better than those buildings and trees. Did that screen capture have tree shadows turned off or some other limited graphic setting?

Merry Christmas Oleg and Team 1C!

Happy New Years too!

Here's a little something from vonHammer on the Delphi FSF.
It's on the nationalistic side, from our troops now deployed.
I am sure that with little work, a Russian version could be.
================================================== ===========

'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and all through the hooch,
not a creature was stirring, except the camp pooch.
The claymores were laid by the wire with care,
in hopes that Osama soon would be there.
The troopers were nestled all snug in thier beds,
while visions of chicks and beer danced in their heads.
I had the watch, and stood at my post,
with MRE coffee for my Christmas toast.

When in the perimeter, there rose such a clatter
I popped up a flare, to see what was the matter.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a tactical sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer

"On Chesty! On Patton! On Bradley and Lee!
"On Nimitz! On Halsey! On MacArthur and Meade!
He fast roped from his sleigh, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment, it must be St. Nick.

He was dressed all in camo, with shiny black boots, and a ruck on his back, filled with holiday loot.
His Ka-Bar was sharpened and ready to go,
His rifle at port arms, to deal with the foe.

He filled up the stockings with girlie mags and beer,
and left for the cook some prime Texas steer.
He left some spare ammo, to shoot at Saddam,
and egg nog and cookies, made just like Mom.

He then turned and told me with his evil grin,
"Kick A$$ , take names, then get home again!"
Then laying a finger alongside his nose,
and then hooking on, up the SPIE rig he rose.

Then I heard him say as he flew out of sight,
"Don't F*CK with America, and to all, a good night!"

Sweet pics. I love the Bf 110 especially. I may be the only one flying it in DF servers (or IOW and VEF for that matter) but atleast I will die in style /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif . Damn I can't get over how beutiful that bird is.

----------------------------------------
The Bf 109G6 A/S is truely an uber target drone. Its fuselage is designed to completly break off with just a few hits and its engine is designed to die with a single hit from anything. The control unit (pilot) is also very easy to disable with even the smallest MG's. The speed of the Bf 109G6A/S is low but not so low that it becomes difficult to follow. Its turn and roll rates are at a comfortable level for most trainees and it allows them to gain experience in deflection shooting. The Bf 109G6 A/S is also slow to climb which allows VVS flyers to practice B&Z on it.

Thanks for the pics. The skin on that 110 is a bit off though. The wasp symbol didnt merge at the front like that, they had a black outline around each wasp. Also there was a small pointed beak/mouth coming down off the bottom. Hope this doesnt make me a luft whiner though. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Thanks for the pics and merry christmas.

hi,
Merry Xmas to the IL2-team.
One question:
is it possible to fix the cockpit view/gun view of FW 190 A-Serie+Dora in FB ? A little down the small stripe of the cockpit beam under the revi. Isn't it more correct ?

We don't plan to change it becasue we actually think that it is done as it was. And I promised after FB will be relesed to released the scheme/blueprints that will show it. Then to show the photos inside the cockpit (if I will have permission from author)

OK... but is it possible to have a bit higher viewpoint in normal (non Revi) sight like in 262? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif . At least in those FW which have bubble canopy this should be possible /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif .
But nonetheless, we complain about too little view in FW below Revi, but the more view we have in 109's and not to forget Yaks isn't much better for deflection... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Many thanks Ivan. I didn't think resolution had anything to do with detail settings. "Low Res" means something like 800x600, a higher resolution would be 1280x960, for example.

It's not the resolution I'm complaining about. I'm complaining about the lack of tree shadows. I'm starting a new party called the treewhiners. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif WHAT ABOUT THE TREES???

/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif heh.

P.S. I understand the settings are lowered, but one shouldn't call that "low res" per say.

Not quite correct. The wasp design was used on majority of the ZG 1 "Wespen" aircraft. There were of course quite a few planes, used for quite a number of years. So there were many variations to the nose wasp - with and without beaks, separate and conjoined, with a big eye painted in the center, with blood dripping off the tail, etc.

Bf 110 had no numbers on the fuselage. Codes of Luftwaffe heavy fighters, bombers, transport planes etc. were alphanumeric with 4 letters or 3 letters and 1 number, which shows the unit.Example 3U + LT for a plane of 9./ZG 26. Fuselage numbers were used only in the Jagdgeschwader (fighter squadrons) of the Luftwaffe

Thera.......

The trees in the screenshots are the trees found inside all cities and towns. They don't have any shadows, but they are real as they can trap ground vehicles and can be destroyed by weapons and the FMB city destruction slider.

The trees with shadows are the ones you find all over the countryside across any FB map...outside the cities. These country trees have shadows, and the length and direction of the shadows depend on the position of the FB sun (time of day). Really Awsum on a winter map. These country trees are the ones controlled by Forests = N in the "conf" file (N integer ranging from 0 to 3 -- 3 for Perfect Mode only). Also, these country trees don't really exist as you and any moving object can pass through them. Eye candy only but they do look better than the city trees (and those palm trees too).

So Stop Whining. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
