You do? All ya gotta do is look at the wins m8..just get close enough that the wing span touches the edges of your reticle. That is gunnery range and on top of that you'll be able to tell the a/c make up and country markings with ease. =0p

Shoot first, ask questions later! lol /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif That actually happened alot in WWII, the buffs were notorious for shooting at our planes. That is where the wing and elevator stripes came from, it was decided to put them on all US planes in a effort to let the gunners and other pilots for that matter be able to quicker identify our own guys.

Kimura! Long time, no see! Why aint you still hanging out at Netwings?

Panther, that certainly was a surprising read! Crazy stuff, Eagleston probably swore on that armor plate after that encounter!

Hmm- P47 does unobserved bounce of P51 (and doesn't
actually shoot it down? It just seemed to have
damaged it). Doesn't really indicate that the
P47 was better than the P51 - just that it was
an unobserved bounce...

Ditto, it's a good background to have if you want people to be scrolling past your post ASAP and just read the rest of the thread. I don't think I've fully read a single post of yours.

Plenty of Typhoons were shot down because of mistaken identity...they were identified as FW190s and either shot down by USAAF fighters, RAF Spitfires, or AAA. Typhoons pioneered the use of the white and black alternating lines...later becoming the high visibility D-Day stripes.
