On takeoff, some planes, like the seafire, have VERY limited forward vision. Is there anyway to lean out of the cockpit of your plane and look ahead?

And, some planes has there gunsight fold down and to the left right when I start a mission, how do I reverse that?

1. No dice for leaning, but you can raise your seat to look over the nose. Not sure what key it is, you'll have to check your controls. You've got to be in normal view (not gunsight view) and the canopy must be open to raise the seat.

2. On planes with iron sights, the sight will automatically fold down when the main sight is damaged. At least, it should. I've heard it's buggy and doesn't work sometimes.

It's the reason "Full Real" is FOS.

The only flight sim that I can think of that lets you lean over the side is MS Flight Sim 2004 and to do that you need the Track IR 3 with the Vector expansion set. And yes, I have that and it works great!

Happened to an old barber here in my little city. after refreshened himself alot(witch by the way happened often) he decided to get some air in the window and happened to lean out too far!! He took a flight right down into the shop marquise below, bounced in it and made a half roll and landed on his gear on the pavement below!
He got himself a new nickname - GAGARIN! Our first man in space!! Landed on ground as the cosmonauts too! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

If you increase your field of view in the cockpit to maximum, you get a better chance of seeing the edges of the runway.

If you haven't done it, assign some keys to increase and decrease field of view. Comes in real handy for all kinds of uses. In fact, at full zoom (decrease field of view) you can use the opened Ki-43 gunsight without going to the gunsight view.
