I'll have to see if I can find that one on a news stand somewhere. I used to find it in my local grocery last summer but I lived 60 miles from here too. Oh well, a good excuse to go out and get another box of Cracklin' Oat Bran.

Is it just me, or do the article seem a bit "surface"?

Excellent pictures of the Tigercat. I had no idea it was so fast. The one pilot talks about "running away" from Mustangs.

It would be nice to have it with 4.09 or SOW.

The previous one had some interesting accounts on Mustang vs Yak combat during the last months of world war two.

But even here there is some dumbing down:

''The P-51 D Mustang is superior to the Yak-9 M, but the Yak is slightly easier to produce''

Conveniently forgetting Yak-3, Yak-9 U etc.

Flight Journal is a nice fun light read with great photography. But yes it tends to be somewhat surface and the details are oft misrepresented as they almost always are. Aeroplane Magazine seems to feel the niche when it comes to more in depth articles and writing.
