View Full Version : Shouldn't pilots get kiled more often and easily?

If you fire with, let's say, one UBS from 100m of a 109, right in the middle, or even with some 7.62mm ShKAS, needless to say the MG17 and MG131, the pilot should get killed quite easily (of course, comparing the referred gun to the contemporary armor it's facing). I've read somewhere that the admiral of japanese fleet, who got killed in a bomber, got perforated by a tracer of a .50 in the stomach and another in the heart, and he was in an armored chair...
And the gunsight getting blasted, the canopy full of holes and the pilot happily with not even a scratch, it's kinda odd
