Has any one noticed, that when you make a mission in the editor, there are vessels around that you didnt place! And nope I dont have any world mods installed.

I plonked my sub next to NY city in the editor to check out the scenary - the hudson river was thriving with destroyers that wasted my unsuspecting sub in seconds and totaly ruined my sight seeing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

And again I did the same with scapa flow for recon purposes (never made it in there alive just wanted a peak), I parked my sub out side scappa in the editor- once gain i placed NO other ships down but my own.

In game - first a friendly german war ship pops up on the nav map and sends me a radio contact!
just to let me know of its preasents in the area, it was patroling right out side scapa too - just to the north east!!!
(Why the f**k does that never happen in the campaign???)
Then scappa is full of destroyers - luckily this time i had mission parameters set to late 1938 so they were neutral and left me to my devices unmolested.

The icing on the cake though, was just as I reached the actual dock and town of scappa flow I notice somthing is on fire in the trees just east of the town, I drive closer to investigate a quick peak though my binoculars reveals its a burning King George V battle ship that some how managed to climb out of the water, crawl up a hill, sit by some trees and set fire to it self ....

It must have got so scared of the sight of my little type II chugging in to port, it swam ashore and commited suicide. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

either that or a spawn error...

OK, this is probably the noobiest question ever, but how do you get to the mission editor?
I can't seem to find it!

EVERY MISSION USES THE CAMPAIGN LAYERS BY DEFAULT - this is old news and everyone knows about it except you.

Take a look at the Scapa Flow mission in the editor... it only contains one unit - your boat.

The rest are in the editor. If you want to disable this feature, change the name of the the three files in your campaign folder to Campaign_SCR.lay Campaign_LND.lay Campaign_RND.lay

This will inactivate them in the single missions but still allow their use as layers when you do a patrol in the game using the campaign.
