Thanks! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I've played all three of the videos, and they are definitely very promising. It's interesting to see how good the characters look -- Yeesha and Esher. I look forward to seeing more of them. You can also plainly see the point-to-point + realtime navigation, and it looks good... but I still think I may avoid that in favor of free movement. There's also an Age I hadn't heard of before. Yes, this looks very good!

Hi all,
I'm bumping this up - let's have some discussion on these excellent in-game videos!

Thanks to darkcity2005 for posting this. To repeat -
There are three new videos of Myst V in-game footage, released by IGN

IGN - In-game videos Myst V! (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/724/724040/vids_1.html)
From IGN - Myst V videos

You can view the smaller versions of the videos for free, for the larger sized videos you need to be a member of IGN.

If you want to download the small, wmv versions of the videos, here is a link, from our friends at Myst Obsession

From Myst Obsession - Myst V video downloads (http://www.mystobsession.com/?page=Movies)

These are great videos - you get to experience a bit of gameplay and see what the people you meet in the game actually look like. It's a wonderful little peak into Myst V.

So, what does everyone think? Does it look beautiful mysterious, mechanical, interesting? What about the two characters? What do you think?

I like the videos very much.

Just a note, MYSTerium.ch (http://www.mysterium.ch) has links to download the three in-game videos as 630x480 Quicktime files instead of the smaller, granier, un-frame-by-framable WMVs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

This game looks awesome! I really like how it shows the move from node to node, which is a lot less dizzying than the usual fading to the next point (exile comes to mind). I'm very intrigued at the Bahro behavior. It seems they can scale walls, and it looked like they can link or something because a couple of them went up to a door and vanished into thin air. The second i saw the table with the red cloth on it the end of Myst popped into my head immediately. And i was right when the Myst book came up. Maybe theres a way we can open the lock...

If I remember the legends right, the Bahro actually originated the ability to link to other ages, but not with books... with stones, etc. The D'ni, once they understood the science behind linking, created The Art, whereby they could link to ages by describing them in highly specialized books, using special ink, paper, writing, etc. All of which is old news to Myst fans of course, but in Myst V it looks like we finally meet the originators of this science.

Well, you are welcome, but actually Alahmnat found a link for the bigger quicktime files. I gave you the link to the little files!

Still, a links a link, and aren't they just amazing videos!
