I created a simple mission by placing the Akagi on the Midway map, and then placing two "Vals" already airborne. I am piloting one of these Vals and I'm about to do a landing attempt. See what happens!

(zipped AVI, over 10 mb, sorry forgot to WMV it)

Here is a smaller version of above, now in SLOW MOTION and with some music mixed in (just over 1 mb).

Based on the videos, do you think the explosion of the wingie Val as it crashed, was the one that sheared off my left wheel?

Last one depicts one of my first successful carrier landings using an SBD Dauntless on the Lexington (just over 600 kb).

BTW movies were recorded directly off the PC screen using a Nikon Coolpix. Output was converted from MOV to AVI to WMV

Isnt there a free Recording thing you can use?
I'm sure it would be less troublesome than recording to your Camera, then uploading to your computer, and converting and whatnot, i dont know the steps, but i do know there's gotta be a free software thing out there somewhere

Yes there are several out there, but my CPU and graphics card can't handle 'em. HyperCAM and FRAPS are good examples, but since FRAPS works in XP only (and HC is hellslow), I can't use it (and you need a real fast harddisk for that one, preferrably SCSI). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Besides, I love the grainy effect of the Nikon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif it makes it look like an old film...I will try a black and white recording soon. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
