Can any one advise what approx angles that they
hit the carrier deck,I'm having great difficulty
getting down after a successful sortie.
Any advice appreciated.

Yea, and at the critical point you`ll see no edge of the deck. That`s when you must land. You literally have to almost stall onto the deck. There`s a lot of `mental` thinking needed here. You have to imagine the hook behind your plane , it`s that hook you want to catch most of all.

As for AOA, sorry but this ain`t no modern jet-carrier sim... I just use eyeball. Simply make sure your descent is not steep but shallow, if it`s steep, you`ll build up speed and end up going too fast! Oh, yea watch that speedometer like crazy.

An older member of our family who flew F6F's in the Pacific once said, "If your controls were still getting a bite when you hit the deck...you were too fast."

Angle of attack? I'll let you know when I figure it out.
