Where did anybody promise that, especially for IL2-'46? The only ricochet effects can be seen on the IL2 models when using light/heavy MGs against them and/or when hitting armour plates behind pilot seats on other planes.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Just try a Hurricane with those many .303s vs. an armored Il-2, it's quite a sight.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Although when an il2 crashes, it always produces a flower of ricochets...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If you shoot with tracers you will se ricochets. It won???t have to be a hard target. I have been shooting much on targets at sea and on land, at see rafts with targets on. I usually used MG and a 20mm guns. They all give ricochets.

One tragic episode occurred, the 20mm projectile got self-destruction fuses, which make the projectile explode after approximately 2000 m.
But the hit in the water made the projectile go so slow that the self-destruction device detonated the shell at much shorter distance.
It looked like small "flaks". An unlucky seagull came to close to one of this "flaks" and got shoot down by the shrapnel???s of this little grenade.

Bullets can bounce off anything. The way it sounded in MP's interviewwith Oleg and Ilya, Ilya said the bullets will only bounce off things they "should" bounce off of like tarmacs and other hard objects. I guess he has never seen this stuff for real...but Oleg has and he should know better than that. I sure hope that given the fact that Oleg is taking the time to do these ricochets that he will do them right and NOT let Ilya mess them up.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Maybe where Ilya lives they don't have rifle ranges?
You can skip bullets off many things including water with a low enough angle.

In Russia, I'm afraid rifle ranges are the least common venue for the discharge of firearms.

Stairwells, building fronts and elevators being the most common.

But yes, ricochets occur on almost anything.

That's why they tell you not to shoot air guns at the water, as my left testicle surely knows by now.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
