Yesterday, I was flying over Southern Russian when I looked over my shoulder and saw a Lagg closing the distance with my wingman coming up right behind him. Rather than go into an evasive maneuvre, I flew straight and level with a little more acceleration. The tactic worked beautifully and my wingman blew the enemy's wing right off. Talk about teamwork. 3 Laggs went down, including an ace, for the loss of one Focke-Wulf.
Unfortunately, my other pilots are having trouble following directions. When we approach a mixed formation of Soviet bombers and fighter escorts, my pilots always fly after the escorts and ignore the bombers...even after being repeatedly ordered to do so, leaving me in the dangerous position of tackling bombers all by myself. I'm getting tired of watching IL-2s blow my beloved panzer convoys to pieces. How do you make a recalcitrant pilot submit to authority? Firing squad? I'm the number one plane. I'm the authority here.

Because Il2 and Yak/Mig/La are same group as fighter, so your wingmen only after is nearest emenies.

Sometimes you have to be a bit more creative. I've found Tab7 can often get their attention and failing this, asking ground control to send assistance.

For me , the following trick works almost all the time.

When you spot plane formation issue order to all your flight to REJOIN. Is under tactical orders I believe. They will follow you through any impossible maneuver you do. Then , issue the order to attack , either fighter , either bombers.

First close in tight then tell them to attack your target. Worse case they will still go after another but your wingman should be right with you. You can also use cover me but two planes to a bomber formation isn't all that great either but gives you some extra time.

May you not become a dirt torpedo.
