Obviously someone here is mad at their husband for playing too much IL2.

Amarillo,TX --Gladis Haralski, founder of United Confederacy Against WWW (UCAWWW) announced last week of her ongoing campaign to shut down the internet.

In an interview Gladis proclaims the destructive way in which we use the internet degenerates society's standards. "The internet is nothing but filth to steal our children from God and truth", says Gladis...

Currently the UCAWWW holds 43 members, all of which reside in Texas. When Gladis was asked by reporters how she planned to reach out to others across the country she said, " We have many ongoing projects, and soon we'll be proud to announce the grand opening of our website ."

Ha ha ha, in Texas it's either bigger or just more of it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I would love to know what is in the idealogical water down in the congregation they call Texas. Always a steady stream of nonsense pouring out of that state.

It's like a remedial northeast Ohio with a little reactionary zealotry thrown in - kinda like a fart in the backseat on a long car ride to nowhere. Seemingly endless, yet suddenly that much more unpleasant.

As a devout Coloradan and recovering Californian, I reserve my right to state prejudice.....hehe

I think that is very unfair of her, stating how it steals you away from God and the Truth....Though I used to be Methodist as a child, before the internet...

I'll pray to the almighty I-Net-Goat and slaughter not just 1 but 2 chickens so I can paint myself fully in their blood doing 3 turns under a new moon asking for her to find understanding.

Uuuut da fed! Targda'mon daf un Tdok oh great I-Net_Goat!!

No doubt she's soft-headed but you can find them in any state. Perhaps she's one of the million or so move-ins from another place. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Well of course she is right. Mankind is degenarating since the first apes fell out of the tree (or since Adam and Eva walked the earth) However, Shutting down internet will not stop this process. It will only slow the degeneration of the human race with maybe a decade.

I still don't see the irony.

If you are against something and feel the need to protest, you usually protest "on location".

I say: she rocks for taking action.

D@mn, slammin' Texas again. Remember, most of us have guns! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Besides, from 1990-2000 our growth was 19% of "Texans" that moved here from other parts of the US. And, 23% of our growth are people from foreign lands (not including Louisiana). Just kidding about Louisiana!

I'm not disrespecting the president here, BUT he was born in New Haven, Connecticut and his daddy was born in Milton, Massachussets.

Don't worry about this lady. She's WAY too late.

Plus, Amarillo is 600 miles from the part of Texas I live in. She's only 430 miles from Denver, Colorado! Run to the hills!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Well, the internet IS a two-edge sword. The internet is a great example of freedom, and yet it is also a great example of chaos.

How fine is the line between freedom and chaos? Democracy and Anarchy? Good and Evil?

Just something to think about...

OH ....No no no , this is small potatoes... shes just the tip of the iceberg..(Amarillo is so far north its practically yankee(small y) land anyway..not surprised)..
Look..Im one of the few persons actually FROM Texas..and its never ending source of amusement..if your from here you better have a sense of humor , and a thick hide..
your going to need it...
this lady is nothing... do a search for the Texas state senator proposing legislation against "risque cheerleading".....or the "creation-ism" debate with regard to schoolbooks, or the fact that in my home town we didnt have liquor by the drink til 1971, and in fact you couldnt buy ANYTHING that wasnt food on Sunday at all.well into the 70's....it goes on and on...this is just the freak of the week.....

Lookit-

Its huge.
Its largely Rural.
Its really really really HOT.Really
Its HEAVILY armed.
Its very wealthy
Football is the State Religion.
A man named "Kinky Friedman" is running for governor...and making a lot of sense...

We've already purchased the best parts of Colorado to have somewhere cool to slum in Summer. And bigger deer to kill.
We dont actually want to live there all the time though cause of that whole ..freezing beeotch winter/no beach/square shaped state thing (we know the locals dislike us but we dont care and they need the money)

....Montana is next..lol

honestly , its never a dull moment...just sit back, grab a brew and enjoy the show...it generally gets better as tempratures reach the century mark here in a couple of weeks and our legislature is in session...
Its gonna get really really good...

Don't forget. The president is just like many Americans in that he was moved by his family or his work.

He's not a Texan and he's not a New Englander. He's an American.

If you have to hate a state, lump 'em all together. United We Stand.

It could be worse...you could live in Georgia. the only state where prosecutors and judges can cite the bible and convict people on religous scripture instead of law. the state where high school boys are sent to prison regularly for 10 or more yrs for messin with high school girls. now they have banned smoking in any building in GA......the legislature said they will ALLOW people to smoke in thier own homes....for now.

whatever you do, dont move to this state. We're being punished for inflicting jimmy carter on the country.....guess we feel sort of like Louisiana now. This is a state to avoid. In tex, they do stupid things that are funny, here they actually make them law. the anti-cheerleading law would pass in a heartbeat down here.
