Title says it all really!!!

I went to Tescos to buy some tea bags for work at dinner time today and got stuck in the middle of an armed robbery!

2 little gits were sat a motorbike when I got to the car park and I thought they look at bit dodgy. When the securicor van arrived they pulled off to a space closer to it.

I thought they looked a bit odd so I got out of my car and went to see what they were doing(what an Idiot!).

When I got within about 10 yards the guy on the back jumped off and pulled out a saw off shotgun! and proceeded to hold the securicor van guys up at gunpoint. At which point I ran in the other direction and phoned the Police.

If I had been wearing any underwear it would be brown right now.

That's great!

You could've walted it up a little though, instead of running off why not say you took care to remember salient aspects of their clothing and of their motorbike before ducking down behind a parked car and observing the robbery whilst calling the rozzers? You don't have to say you waded in and, despite getting a little shot, apprehended both villains after felling them with round-house-kicks, but you don't have to come quite so clean with the fleeing either.

I'd've run off too, very scarey shtuff when the most you're expecting is a bit of queueing and a brief chat with a bored checkoutist.

Could'a been a whole lot worse. Here in 'Murica we're a wee bit "trigger happy". You could've been caught in the crossfire twixt the theives, cops, security guards, private citizens and the Girl Scouts (tongue firmly planted in cheek).

In all seriously, when unarmed you run (not walk) as far as you can as fast as you can and get under cover the best you can. Better a live witness than a dead victim.

I think you will be glad for the experience shortly. Food will taste better, air sweeter etc. Go skydiving or something now.

Glad you are alive as well.

They did get away, I had to give a statement at the police station monday night, apparently they got away with 60,000!! They had stolen the Motor bike in London the week before, I had given the number on it to the police but it turned out to be a false one. They found the bike and their clothing dumped the other side of town.

The BBC has a small report about it here.

Doesn't make mention of a man wearing a Track IR hat http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Just kidding, good that you are still ok. It's no use being a dead hero.

I was wandering around in a shopping district once, and was mildly surprised to see a cop car speed up, the cops leap out and draw their guns and run into a bank.

So I thought "I better get out of here in case someone starts shooting."

What stunned me was that everyone else started running TOWARDS the bank, obviously hoping to see some action.

Just goes to show: never underestimate the power of stupidity.

EDIT: Turned out to be a false alarm, I believe. In case you were wondering.
