I was wondering if anyone uses these interface orders, from the Chief Engineer, I think. I prefer to use the compass and rudder controls along with the speed settings, myself, and zig-zag out of there.

Does anyone use these preprogrammed orders, and are they any good for evading DDs? Thanks!

I never use them...and the **** 'Bold' decoys don't do much for me either...

then I start nervously chewing on my own 'knuckles' as the destroyers begin their DC attacks... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

I only use a "knuckle" turn if I'm being actively pinged by an escort on a DC run. I'm assuming that it makes for a sharper turn because the prop in the direction of the turn is put into reverse.

I've gotten pretty good at avoiding DC attacks because I fire my torps at long range and then turn away and descend to 100 meters while silent running. I usually concentrate on one or two high value targets. If I've got a couple of FATs, I'll send each of them after a given target and then two conventional torps at the largest tanker.

Generally speaking, it's better to not be DC'ed at all...

Ooohhh.. I wish the high command had told us that....would have saved a lot of spareparts.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Wait let me see if I got that right....
When you use the knuckle manuvers you reverse the engine your turning into? Do you know that for fact? Can you see it on the engine telegraphs? Thats cool of it does and I might use them (never really tried then in action) if they improve my boats turning radius.

knuckles also make the water sound crazy, like a decoy was dropped.
