Whats the deal with player made missions again? As in where do I put them again? And what else- if anything- do I have to dl to make them work?

Nm it self extracted itself.

It is self extracting to c:\Program files\Ubi soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles. It's the default directory for merged installation. Users having Pacific Fighters as stand alone installation have to change the directory, using the browser.

Tutorials like this one are very cool, but how could i build one myself? I mean an ingame replay video with subtitles.

I downdloaded this, but I must have done something wrong...
The missions are there, but no tutorial... ?
I thought the tutorial would start when launching the mission, and that I would have to click "escape" to skip it.
Doh... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

The tutorial is the movie. He goes over take off. Seat adjustment. Trimming in flight those sorts of things.

Fairly well done. Didnt do the mission as it seemed, well, to be just bombing and strafing which Ive dont in various campaighns but I did watch the entire first movie.

Had no idea you could zoom the gunsight and then look around to see stuff better. Well I had an idea you could do it but never thought of using it that way. Good stuff.

In the film it was cntrl h or something which Im not sure is default- if there is a default for it that is.

But you should be able to set it to whateva you want. Its in the control panel as seat position or something similar.

Some commands have to be defined by the user, because there is no default key by the original command set. Two solution, you define the requested instruction for your pilot (for instance [ctrl H] for the hood and [alt H] for the pilot place (high or low)), or you copy the settings.ini file provided in the package into your pilot directory (see the read-me).

For getting the pilot in position high.
1- Open the hood, and wait 2 seconds (time for full opening)
2- Check that gussight is off (piot in position high is disable when gunsight is active). I think that default key for gunsight is [ctrl F1].
3- Press [alt H], or key you defined for going to high position.

Sorry for this late answer, I was locked in a refinery for my job. Unfortunately, sometimes, I'm working...

Unfortunately, it is up to now in French only, available here. (http://www.simulation-france-magazine.com/download.php?op=mydown&did=438) For translating in english... I'm quite busy right now, making a campaign on Battle over France. I will use the classical answer for PF: two more weeks! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Some brief advises: The movies and the texts are stored in the 'video' directory. The movies files are tracks made with PF, copied in the video directory, and renamed without the extension '.ntrk'. The name of the movies must have no extension, no space char, no special char, only '-' and '_' are accepted plus letters and numbers.
Movie (the sequence order, this film before that mission, and so on are declared in the campaign.ini file. The lines for movy declaration are beginning with a star "*".
Texts for 'Wildcat_training' are written in the wildcat_training.msg files. To edit it, open it with MS notepad, or any text editor (it is not a MS Outlook file). The file structure is:
"[all]
0:05 First text
0:10 Second text
0:16
12:15 Final text"
In that example, the first text is displayed at the fifth second of the movy, teh second text at the tenth second, no text from 16 seconds to 12mn15s, the final text till the end.

Unbelievable! Just wanted to say a big thanks for USMC WIldcat training campaign - I can quite honestly say that its transformed my PF experience...
Unlike most of the pilots here...who talk breezily about tangling with a gaggle of Tonys or Zeros, strafe a Destroyer then head for base and the next medal i`ve spent the last 2 months hopelessly taking off oops! Trying to land oops! Trying to trim my plane ouch! Ina constant cycle of failure and disapointment - in the real life airforce i`d have been relegated to Air Traffic COntrol on the Alutians long ago! Hehehe
Downloaded this campaign watched the training movie a couple of times flew mission 1 and amazingly took off, found the target, strafed a couple (not one - a couple!!) of cars returned to base landed (in one piece!!) and parked in the hanger.
For such a feat of military heroism and prowess i was expecting at least a Congressional Medal of Honour if not an immediate promotion to General - perhaps that`ll come when i fly it again and finally bag that pesky landing craft!
Perhaps there is hope i`ll master PF after all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
