Holy smokes what a ride. Just got done flying the squad match with the warbirds of prey! There were formations of 8 and 9 He111's with 4 or 5 escorts (all human pilots!). Our Hurricanes tore into them and were able to bring a few down flaming through the skies! If you squad would be interested in joining us the next match is for 1600 EST Aug 27th, 2005. We had about 26 people there but would like to get a few more to join the fun. We use Teamspeak to coordinate our efforts and the server runs full real. Don't be intimidated by the full realism though. With comms. it is real easy to determine who is friend and who is foe! It is a blast please visit Warbirds of Prey (http://www.warbirdsofprey.org) and get your squad signed up!

I tried out the Warbirds of Prey server and recieved a @ss kicking. Spits vs 109s and Zekes vs Wildcats isn't for the amature sim jock. You really need to know your shyt to fly and survive there. They take flying online to a whole new level. Flying tactically really means something on their servers. Its not the typical run and gun and brag because you fly the most uber plane that is the norm on allot of servers now. I wish I could have been there tonight to fly in the squad match. Is this going to be a permanant thing for warbirds of prey? Thank god someone stepped to the plate in a effort to recreate history instead of myths.

We are trying to build historical to semi historical missions that will run for two weeks. The plan is to have the mission open to both squads and individuals with Teamspeak (only way to get the password) on one week and then run the squad match the next week. By having it open to the public one week we hope individuals that do not have a squad yet will have an opportunity to fly with several of the squads participating in the match and consider joining a squad. For now as long as there is squad participation this will be a permanant thing. The switch to full real is really not that hard. Its like anything the more you do it the better you get. I have never considered myself a good dogfighter. Seems I get shot down more than I shoot other people down. But with the way this server works I have switched over and become a bomber pilot and that is something I can excell in. Stuffing bombs on targets at 20,000 + ft is awsome! What ever role you like to play you will find it with us!

Just a note about the fun we had yesterday; seeing a large formation of He111's+109s in escort and all of them being human pilots will raise the hair on the back of anyones Neck.

Things are looking good we have another two squads looking to join us this coming Saturday. The new mission was just loaded and is ready to go.

On September 3rd your Squad can now use there Historical Skins in the Squad Match. So now seeing your m8s in the skins that you or a team mate created is pssible.

I had a visit yesterday and had a blast. Being my first time on a fully switched meant I was total n00b and I managed to get lost and blown out of the sky every time I actually got one up but it was great fun, the anticipation of being blown out of the sky...the smack of cannon shell on airframe from the unseen bandit...the death dive into the ground. God knows how I'll feel when I finally shoot something down.

I still have not gotten a air kill yet but sure put alot of rounds in some German aircraft. As well I have not lost my plane. So far I have been able to at least emergency land it in friendly territory.
