THis happened to me last night. I decided to try a new anti-DD tactic. Know how in the stock game the DD would ram your sub and then promptly sink? And how in 1.4b it will move away harmless, while it is YOUR boat that sinks?

Well, I thought, what if the ship rams the superstructure, not the hull itself. I was at periscope depth with the IX/D2 boat and went ahead flank to attract attention. As the destroyer came closer, I turned the stern towards it. The ship rammed the conning tower at top speed...

Instead of the tower, it hit (and destroyed) all 3 flak guns, and the hull integrity stayed at 100%. The destroyer sank immediately, and almost dragged us under, but slid off at the last minute.

So, 3 flak guns to sink one DD? I'd say it is a desperate tactic to try in a desperate situation, but it works http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
