Apart from trying to figure out why I never knew the sod on my six was indeed on my six, I probably spend more time wondering how to balance my TIR on top of my nice new LCD monitor than anything else. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Unsightly tape is - unsightly. The flexible stand doesn't want to grip... Any tips?

On my TrackIR3 Pro .... I placed a strip of black double adhesvie backed tape (bought at hardware store) on the bottom of the clip. Stuck it to the top of my LCD monitor and then slid the TrackIR unit into it. Has been working fine since .... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I had terrible problems trying to attatch it to mine too. I had to bend the bugger quite considerably to get it to hold and it would keep dropping off.

Eventually I just put it higher up on the shelf behind my monitor and it works like a charm. Being a little further away seems to give better performance for me too. It's not as twitchy and doesn't lose sight of the reflective dot as it did when it was closer...

Did you check the manual?

When mounting it this way, you could use the 'unsightly tape', as it is not in sight?

Have Fun!

could you not stick the dot on the monitor and screw the tracking unit to the top of your head? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've stuck the lid of a CD case on the monitor.
TrackIR fits nicely on that...

U guys are lucky... I use a big screen projector, so my TrackIR is mounted on a boom in front of me that is supported by fishing line. In order to ensure that it is level, I have a spirit level attached to it ($6 from local H/W store) and a turnbuckle ($2.50) to ensure fine adjustments can be made easily. Despite the tIR and the big screen I am still at a loss the explain my all-around combat ineffectivness...lol.

Yeah, just read the instructions. You have to twist the camera around 180 degrees so the third support leg is pointed away from you. The adhesive strip that Natural Point provides works just fine. No bending of the metal support legs, duct tape or fishing line is necessary.

Ahh, you see! I accidently threw away the original packaging. I didn't know about this.

With the adhesive strip I still wouldn't be able to do it though on my current monitor. There is only about half an inch of flat surface at the top rear of my monitor. There is a ventillation grill just below this at 45 degrees. No room.

My shelf will suffice for now.

Us guys are lucky? Are you kidding? That must be some setup you have. Must be awesome.

I'm with DarkBlue.

I also have a TIR 2 (sigh), so I don't think I ever had Trottel's fancy fixing bits.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll try TaylorTony's solution. A bit of trepanning might help my aim...

Blu tack - but it's a poor solution.

The top of my panel is curved.

Why dont you get in touch with natural point- they should be able to send you a replacement at minimum cost as it doesnt look like a very complicated piece of plastic - they seem to have good customer support so there is nothing to lose
