From Gamespot's E3 hands-on:

" From our brief play time, the simulation style did seem markedly more challenging than arcade mode (we certainly racked up a lot fewer kills), but hardcore grognards still won't mistake this game for something on the level of IL-2 Sturmovik."

I just downloaded it and all I can say is JUNK. Uninstalling it after 1 minute of play.

Its really arcade. Like SWON. If we can get graphics like that in Bob... Water looks allmost real and clouds+explosions too. And you can make nice movies with fraps. Its a good fps www2-flightgame for kids to start.

Here's a link to a thread with lots of screenshots (posted earlier on this forum), for those who are interested (for the fun factor !!) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

How do you get your joystick to work?

Also I did not see any multiplay options.

The sad thing is, it has a much better plane and ship set than the much vaunted, hyper-accurate Pacific Fighters. Again, I am tempted to give up trying to fix the offline campaigns and just go back to CFS2 (for historical accurate flying) and HotP for fun and graphics. This is definately on my "to buy" list!

Nimits, have you tried DCG by Lowengrin? Great program.

The voice-overs made me want to puke with rage. I had to crash myself into the control tower, I was so ashamed to be playing that character. I was hoping to kill the commander guy too, but, he just kept on whining about the Arizona.

Compared with this, I immensely enjoyed the Crimson Skies demo. That's actually a good game, with better physics (ground breaking things like, can't fly straight up forever).

There's no reason to admire the content list, either. All the models are cartoony and poorly done.

Isn't Hero's of the Pacific targeted for an XBox release?

Says a lot, really.

I did, a long time ago. Admittedly, I am more of a DGen.

But neither DGen nor DCG can compensate for the fact that we don't have flyable carrier torpedo bombers, and we don't have an IJN cruisers or USN battleships.
