I remember how amazed I was the first time I noticed this, too. Some of the little details in this sim are just out of this world. I have hit some of them, but I don't usually record tracks, so I don't have any pictures.

I've hit them (by accident usually) lots of times. No score or text message for the hits though, they're not figured into the combat model.

After all this time it still amazes me watching them soldiers flea from the trucks. Really cool when you spot the officer running for his life. You can almost feel the panic as the run in different directions.
It's the things like this that make for top notch involvment of your surrounding's. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Congrats to Oleg once again!

Set up this in FMB.

A lot of people still don`t know this happens. For me it`s still one of the GREATEST IMMERSION EFFECTS in any flight sim.

Diving in your aircraft towards a convoy and as you open fire seeing terrified men flee from either side of the convoy is fantastic. Amazing to see the dust kick up around the trucks and the men running between it all. It stops being `just a bunch of trucks` and becomes a scary act of killing - men really are afraid (well, in a virtual pixellated way). And you can hit them too!

1st time I saw it, I smashed into the ground - forgot to pull up! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif All we need now is men leaping over the sides of ship when sinking, but even SHIII doesn`t show this...

Thanx, Oleg, this kind of thing keeps me flying IL2.

This feature is one of the main reasons I love flying the IL-2 against convoys. It just feels right somehow http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Now for BOB, Oleg needs to introduce "rag-doll" physics to these fleeing troops so that when you strafe them their bodies will jerk and spasm as the bullets hit them.

a little OT for Tooz : I read on some news site that the M3 motorway was approved, and I remembered it from your sig. What's next up now ? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

If only there is a proper ships...

Thanks for the pics madsarmy. I nailed one of the little backwards dash competitors last night and bellied in after having a giggling fit. Truy amazed by the little details. It really made the game for me to see that.

Oh GOD! The humanity!!!

I like setting up HUGE convoy lines on long straight roads, I'm talking about having them more than 1 km. long, and just strafing down that roadway. It's so much fun, especially with the Hurri Mk.IIb and the P-40C

Yup, its real fun to strafe columns and watch the little ppl flee in panic. Even more fun with a cr@p plane that doesnt have huge bombs or cannons that take out everyone at once http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Wow. That's a nice pic Olli http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

yup, you can kill them...look at the difference in the way they are laying. I saw one little runnin dude get run over by an su-76, went right under the tracks, and when the tank passed over, he was in the dead position, not the cowering one.

try the effect with artillery. its great, adds alot to battles when there are guys running all over the place among shells landing. make sure you put a camera near.

also, if you hit one taking off, your plane will selfdestruct. They are apparently extremely dense clones or something. if one of them runs into your plane, you will still get clobbered, as it destroys you plane. I thought that was supposed to be fixed, but no big deal. just dodge them.
