I've been trying to play the Royal Navy campaign, but if I make a successful landing (have a lot of trouble with Seafire traps http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif ) on my carrier, I quit and a DGen error pops up, and I lose all my campaign data. I'm getting sick of it and would rather not "experiment" any more with it... Anyone got any ideas?

Do *not* delete your ruined campaign. There is a way to rescue it, for sure just try to search thru the forums, and if you do not find it try community help. I have seen particuarly campaign questions regarding campaign crash.

Can you post more info what went wrong? Maybe someone can help.. did you get error message when loading campaign mission or what? If you get error loading mission message, what does it says?

Your campaign is in two folders under main IL2/PF folder Missions and Users.(under missions folder select campaiign country and you will see the folder which contains missions and the rest of the files..). So if you *do* reinstall the game be sure to save (later copy/paste) these two folders after fresh reinstall. You will still got you ruined campaign, bu maybe you find a way to save it in the meantime.

And if you want advice, do not change anything in DGen..(I know I never did that) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. After I land my seafire in the Royal Navy campaign and I push Quit, my an error window pops up and says that DGen.exe needs to quit. Sometimes it leaves my campaign intact at the former mission, and sometimes the status file gets wiped clean for the next mission and I can't do anything...

Maybe check contents of the file Dgen.log.

This error can have many causes.
(Memory errors, temps? Disk/file errors?)

Ok, FoolTrottel,

Where are those DGen.logs supposed to be? Ok, so I played this mission two times before I completed it successfully last night, and a record of all three of those missions exists in the main Il-2 FB/AEP folder. Can I put the successful one back into my campaign??

What I meant by look at C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Dgen.log is: check it whenever the error occurs. It might show what it has done last.... could lead to a solution for the error... as to try and fix so the 'dgen.exe has to be shut down' message will not happen again.

I do not know if and how to put the successfull one back.
But also I do not fully understand your current problem:
- Is your campaign defective now, as in cannot continue?
If so, the fix in the link I mentioned earlier, will let you repeat your last mission (for you the 4th time ;-(, so Dgen can have another go at generating the next mission.
Did you try the fix?
