I think above is a fine example of one aspect that could arrive in time and chance the way we construct structures, both in space and ground.

Needlessly to say that would be quite awesome watch in-game how these structures are deployed and constructed under this concept and changing shapes according to punctual needs, namely to face natural disasters: an hurricane, a typhoon, an earthquake or like was showed in last BGE2 post, to face a meteor rain; or for other requirements like create an emergency hangar/workshop for damaged ships/vehicles, quarantine ambiances in case a pandemic, etc, etc, etc.

Of course we would need to change paper for futuristic materials like aerogels, graphene other carbon derivatives, and etc.

3D Printing is very futuristic :D
First we Print our Hybrid to bring the materials

after fabricating the build material we can print Parts of a house or directly a house with 3D printing

Some materials ^^

Paper is old XD now comes the rollable touchscreen

sry for my mixing around :D

but i think its just more for dialouges to explain some things for the player.
maybee the producing part is more realistic to visualice it.

Yeah, 3D printing is the more likely future but having the ability to change shapes to face certain circumstances could be a big plus, specially in static structures, but well, BGE 2 team will decide their way.

I also realize that 3D printing living beings pretty sure must be a top secret (like the construction of atomic bombs), if not anyone (individuals, societies, nations) whom can afford it could make their own private army of hybrids and try to conquer the world/galaxy/universe. And depending on where those blueprints are stored, either in old Earth or in a "Quantum Galaxy Network" (universal internet or whatever would be called), it could lead to a mission/quest were we may either stole them or destroy them to achieve the goal of hybrid freedom. But, of course, some others will want it for them (Zhou Yuzhu for instance).

Perhaps, due to necessity, could be a low cost alternative tech to replace limbs and organs for the ones who can't afford a 3D printing operation: could be like grow those parts on vats, similar to the ones for hybrids, but in minor scale, or using special bags filled with a "primordial soup" that allows enzymes to create chains and to form cells, then tissue and finally the organ/limb itself.
Although some could argue that the prosthetic limbs we watched on several characters in BGE2 are the low cost alternative to 3D printing, there is a chance that they choose a mechanical limbs over a organic because is more useful in the life they live, that is a mechanical arm is more useful in battles than an organic one since they can modded it to hold weapons/devices/other useful stuff... perhaps even a psycho gun!!!

But how about internal organs? Perhaps those could be a similar case to Bicentennial Man, with their biomechanical organs, but we know that having such stuff could lead to other drawbacks (everything have their pros and cons) like been deactivated/hacked but other means that don't affect organic matter.

Well, that was all for today of my drifting BGE 2 lucubration :p

lol i go and print my pizza XD Food (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=food+3D+printing)
hmm can i print some water? XD printing everything XD

After eating i print Jessica Alba and Megan Fox and let them clean up and warm me to sleep :D
3D printing is our future :D

Well there is the inverse 3D Printing. That would make sense for strong structures. It doesn't print it carvs out from a solid block of material.
This is still very uncommon. So like you want a dunno base of a ship. Get a solid metal block and laser the structure out. It would also withstand more force than any welded structure. Welding points are weakspots.

This exists like there is a vending machine (https://www.fastcompany.com/3044005/this-vending-machine-will-make-you-a-fresh-pizza-from-scratch) at least for pizza.

Hard biting Pizza :D but i think a machine in the mothership would make sense :D Printing out everything :D
demaged parts or dead mates, just print it :D
Need a new vehicle? bring the material and print it :D
i think a printer have to come :D
