Help me out, please.

I need to know the dimensions for Gloster Gladiator MK I propeller. Total lenght and center diameter mainly. How many bolts were used to fasten the propeller? Any pictures would be helpful, too.

Thnx.

You might want to ask Capt. Haddock, he modelled the Gladiator(s), he must know. If that doesn't help any, I could send you some line drawings of one. But you'd have to calculate prop diameter compared to overall length of the drawing.

The best, and probably easiest/quickest way would be to just google your way through...

well while doing the research for the J8A model for Haddock I received the original manual for it .....

I have translated parts of it and if you look at page 3 (page 9 in the manual) under section "C" you will find the correct diiameter and other stuff... The MkI is the same as the J8 (without the "A") and as you can see it's diameter is 3,048 m and weight 44,5 kg (without the hub)

You will find the manual at www.f19vs.se (http://www.f19vs.se). Look under "Hangar" - "JA8 - in short".
May I ask what it is for?

Oh, and how many bolts.. well you will find very few pics of the Gladiator without the "hub"or "nose cone".

Looks like they almost always decided to use it, the only pics I have seen without it is on pics from before the war...

Gladiators from 75 Squadron during an airshow in 1938...

Gladiators Ismalia 1938.

But I found this pic from the wreck of the Gladiator N5379 at the edge of Lake Lesjaskog in August 1940, the result after a German attack the winter before..

As you can see it was bolted with 1 large bolt in the middle and 10 around...
