Hey everybody,

for about two or three days now, whenever I visit the forums (I use Firefox), the pages appear screwed up. First of all, the background is white, text is Times New Roman, etc. etc. I've seen this before when browsers get "clogged". Usually the problem is solved by just closing and re-opening your browser, but this solution doesn't work for me.

I'm visiting this site NOW with IE, and it looks OK, no "funny" layouts and texts, all images visible.

Does anyone else have the same problem? I know I didn't change any settings in Firefox and all other websites appear as they should.

Thanks for the help.

I used to do a little web site building "back in the day" so I may be a little off base now. You used to design a page for IE and one for Netscape and use a little java app to read what browser the viewer was using and give them the proper version. You may still see a little tag that says "This site has been optimized for use with IE 5.0" or some such. This is because newer or older versions may not display the page exactly as it was designed. Your problem may be something along these lines.

I understand the logic behind it. Thanks for your reply. But I've been using Firefox for years (at least it feels that way) and I've never had problems viewing the UBI pages...

Notice that individual post are not "locateable" at first glance, you need to go fishing for them.

Try this:

Tools>Options>Content Tab.

In the fonts and colors section click 'advanced'

Make sure "allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" is ticked.

Probably that over sized sig you have m8 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Firefox is actually a later browser than IE, which is now an antiquated behind-the time beast.

It looks like you have disabled CSS and are not loading the style-sheet for the ubi forums. So try:

view -> page style->basic page style
Have you tried clearing your cache? (ctrl+shift+delete)?

I can confirm that that does it (as I said above).

My that looks bloody awful...

B16Enk! Yo da man, you're my hero!!!

Thanks a lot, you were right, I tried all the other suggestions, but everything was properly checked. As I said, I had not changed anything lately.

Ctrl-Shift-Delete did the trick.

Thanks again!

Mods, this thread may be deleted unless it's of use for future reference.
