View Full Version : How does the toxic ban work?

I have been trying to wrap my head around this new system as a friend of mine has been banned for toxic behaviour. I was wondering what the criteria are for this and how UBI is policing the toxic ban wave? I can understand if someone says something in text chat that is inappropriate and how that would be fairly easy to see but what about if someone is reported for being toxic, without actually doing anything wrong? Does UBI have the ability to see that nothing rude was said or done and then disregard the report as trolling?

I should also ask if there is a way to challenge a ban if you believe you did nothing wrong?

Hey WhiskyLima.NEuK, we are able to see what was said. If you are reported, we can check to see if you are actually toxic. You can read the code of conduct here (https://rainbow6.ubisoft.com/siege/en-us/news/detail.aspx?c=tcm:152-249092-16&ct=tcm:148-76770-32), but essentially, we are banning for racial slurs, hate speech and harassment. Your friend can appeal here (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/Cases/New) if his account was compromised during the time the toxicity occurred.

Hi ubisofttofu thanks for the clarification. I thought that might be the case and i'm pleased to hear that UBI is taking a stronger stance on this kind of thing. It was just unusual because both he and a friend were banned at the same time and they both claim neither had said anything to anyone. I will let him know about the appeal procedure. Thanks for your time.
