I've heard of the new game (BattleField Commander)and if it's made by your people then it's got to be sweet! So I was wondering if it would ever be possible to combine the two games. Have people playing as ground forces and people busting them with planes in FB. Would that ever be possible? :-)

dont reaky think so, it looks similar to fb in the graphics and all that, what would be nice for him to do, a game where you can be groun army air army or sea army, there are some games like that where you can be a pilot, an tank or artilery, and comant ships, it would be so great, every one would buy it, but i still gonna buy this new game , and all what oleg does, he has shown us the dedication he has and good quality of his producs

WWII Online does that reasonably well. It's all about focus in gamedevelopment. IL2(FB) tried to be the best flightsim (and succeded in my opinion) en Battlefield Command focusses totally on the RTS-aspect.

RTS games and realtime flying doesn't mix well, as far as I can tell. Oleg told me at ECTS 2002 that de IL-2 engine was designed to be capable even of a FPS-style game. But it can't be all at once.

A persistent WWII-world with FPS-ground combat (soldiers and tanks), naval combat and flightsim is not in the stars for this IL2-engine.

GOOD! Because, in general, when you try to do too many things, you end up with a bunch of things done well... but not GREAT! IL2 is a GREAT SIM! I hope they keep the focus there and not on some bigger scope

Sounds like your talking about Battlefield 1942. Great arcade online FPS.
