I have been experimenting with IL-2 in Stereoscopic 3D via anaglyph Red/Cyan. I used the IZ3D driver (http://www.iz3d.com/t-dcdriver.aspx) (version 1.09) stereoscopic driver and cheap Red/Cyan 3D-glasses from EBAY (~3Euros for 10pairs).

These are the results!

What's the difference?

Did you try it out in game? Would like to know if it has a convincing 3D effect and how about the original colours with those Red/Cyan glasses on?
Does it work with 6DOF by the way? Questions, questions, questions... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

I'll have to see if I can get some of those red/blue glasses and check those pics out.

I've been hoping someone will get a 120hz lcd monitor and try out nvidias new 3d glasses on il2.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif IT WORKS, but with RED / CYAN glasses on ! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
See the 1rst picture with RED/CYAN glasses, to see how the canopy looks like floating over the TBF..

I have not tested it with 6DOF yet, but there is no reason NOT to work.

Unfortunately for us cheap-punks, there are not enough $$$ for Nvidia's 3D Vision glasses... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

My opinion is that:
+ It is fine to test it at least once
+ it does feel more realistic

- It WILL mesh your eyes.
- It WILL cause you headaches!

May I take this opportunity to point you fellows in the direction of edimensional's shutter glasses for full colour stereoscopic flying in IL2 (amongst other things).

They are cheap and the stuff required for them should be cheap too as they move into the 'secondhand' category (something like a Pentium 4 cpu, nvidia 7600GS card and CRT monitor should suffice).

Wear headphones to keep the glasses in place (this is for the people who complain that they fall off rather too easily).

Etc.....virtual life is bliss.

seems like theres more thats needed to capture true virtual 3d.

Im sure the cockpit looks more in the foreground, but what about the depth of the cockpit. Is there some level of depth perception while looking towards the planes??

Id like to try it out if i could find some glasses.

When you get the glasses, check this picture out: http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/87/89356737.th.jpg (http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/87/89356737.jpg)

It shows this feature, as good as it gets, which is NOT EXCELLENT... But NVIDIA comes up TOOOOOOOO expensive with the new 3D Vision...
