View Full Version : Mapping Community?

Hello, I am pretty new here but I am getting excited!

I have a few questions, and a few ideas.

Is there another resource / website for farcry editing that I am unaware of?
I found that the best way to learn tips and tricks has always been through community.
I come from source engine editing, and my favorite site was www.interlopers.net
They had tutorials, map contests, weekly/monthly beta testing gatherings and very good feedback on WIP works.
It really made the whole experience, alot less lonely at times bahaha :P

So my question is do you think the Ubisoft forum is going to be the healthiest place for a community?

IF this farcry 5 editor is going to be all it's cracked up to be, is there any interest out there in building a solid resource for FC5 mapping?
Either a blog / forum that could be setup, where we can write tutorials, get feedback etc.
or do you think the Ubisoft forums will suffice?

thanks for your time!

There is the forums here. So far I found that the guys on these two Facebook groups are the most knowledgeable when it comes to the editor for Far Cry 4 and I would think Far Cry 5 also when its released.

This group is mostly PC. https://www.facebook.com/groups/FarCryMapEditors/
This group is mostly consoles https://www.facebook.com/groups/Far.Cry.Maps/

I am in many groups for Far Cry but these seem the best for ediitor help or information.

I have a Blog that is more Campaign right now (just because there is no MP or Editor info, once Far Cry 5 is out then people will be making Tutorials and Editor related stuff.

Those sites will all be doing different things, then there are the Facebook groups listed in the post above and XB1 / PS4 have Groups / Clubs as will Steam.
