Hehe, this whole private sessions thing is a ... I've been playing several private sessions with some guys who invited me; and you know what? Points simply count!
Is that normal?
To give you an idea; if you put up a private session in ANY other game I know of, points never count...

I don't remember if private matches in ACB didn't count, or if they counted on the Player Match leaderboards (instead of Ranked). But I know the Assassin's Network tracked Player Match stats, and that's part of the reason nobody cared enough to take the site seriously, and I know that trophies and challenges could be completed in private matches (which was stupid, because it encouraged boosting). From what I've heard, private matches in ACR, as you mentioned, count for everything as if they were proper matches. No, it SHOULDN'T be that way, but yes, Ubisoft really did decide to let it happen anyway.

you could never do challenges in private, as you don't earn any XP there.

Achievements/trophies though, yes. I suspect most Role Model and AEOTM achievements were earned this way

Well, I wonder what all the difficulty in matchmaking is all about than...
Would be so much easier with a game browser.
