Modern LCD displays perform much better for gaming than they once did. With response times of 16 and 12 ms, the problem of ghosting in games is a thing of the past. Prices have come down to Earth, too. Two excellent brands: Samsung and NEC/Mitsubishi. You'll pay more for a monitor with both DVI and analog connectors; lower priced models have just the 15-pin analog.

Do a search on LCD's. You will fine many topics on LCD monitors for gaming with 1000's of opinions.

I have one, a 17" Planar, it's fantastic!

I've had a 19" Mitsubishi E85LCD for over a year and it's great. The only problem that I ran into was with the eDimensional 3D Glasses. For some reason they don't work well with LCD monitors. Something to do with the mhz I think.
