for the playstation 3.. i wonder if the guys at ubi will take advantage of the sixaxis function on the ps3. perhaps use it for better acrobatic abilities or whatnot. discuss

perhaps they'll implement it into crowd gameplay, where the "shoulder" button areas are your shoulders in the game, and maneuvering them left and right allows you to easily slip through crowds without pushing them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

well... i donno... maby you could hold down a button and use the mouse. but unless they forget about the sixaxis completly is generally going to differ slightly.

Anyone heard/read review about the sixaxis function yet, whether it's working well...?

I tried a game today that is still in dev and the sixaxis function was just a little feature, useless in my op! I'd be real surprise that this feature work as well as the Wii does...

It won't work nearly as well as the wii, but it would probably help a bit for some game with lots of controls.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I've used sixaxis and from my experience with it if a game is designed around and specifically for Sixaxis then it could be good. But if it is added to a game that doesn't require it then it is more of a gimmick just to say the game uses it.

Since most games these days are designed to be cross-platform titles, they can't design a game around the new feature of one console if the other consoles/platforms don't have the technology.

You all talk about not/featuring it, but nobody is willing to say what it is.

Is there anyone who can tell us that?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Sixaxis is Sony's fancy name for their new controller. It appears exactly the same as the Dual shock PS2 controller, but doesn't have the rumble feature. Instead it has sixaxis.

Sixaxis is essentially a movement sensor that works, suprisingly in six axes. It can sense the degree of tilt you apply to the controller, the direction of the tilt, as well as the acceleration with which you move the controller (up/down, left/right, forward/backward). 3 axes of tilt, and 3 axes of acceleration give you your six axes.

While the controller is capable of all this it is up to each developer to decide which of the functions they will use. If they don't put code in to use it then it won't do anything, a bit like having a game where rumble wasn't programmed in.

I think it could be a really fun feature, but only if it is applied in a way that makes sense, rather than just being applied so the dev's can say "Our game supports sixaxis".

Jade Raymond said that they could not figure out a way to use the Sixaxis without it feeling tacked on, there for there will be no use of the Sixaxis.
