Hi all.

So here's the thing. I've been recently trying to get a hold of the myst soundtracks and strategy guides, in a kind of must own lots of practical myst things. (coffee mugs don't cut it I'm afraid! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )

I've gotten my hands on the soundtracks of Myst, Riven and Exile, and the strategy guides are dead easy to find.

But the soundtracks for Revelation and Uru, well, that's a different kettle of fish altgoether.

Revelation soundtrack is only available from the ubi us shop, which refuses to post to Australia (where, funnily enough, I live) and Uru soundtrack, well, that's harder to find than shakespeare's original manuscripts. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

So, oh great and wonderful myst community I adore, I need a favour. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Is there anyone willing to find out how much it would cost to buy and post the revelation soundtrack to melbourne australia, and then do that once I send the money? This is a similiar idea to back when Collector's editions were organised for the US fans.

I reserve the right to back out of course if it turns out to be too expensive, but it's gotta be cheaper than some international shops anyway.

As for Uru soundtrack, well, I don't like to do this, but I don't realy see any other way to get ahold of it. Is there anyone out there who could make me a copy? The sampler included in the Uru collectors editions doesn't really cut it.

At some point when I've got some serious spare cash lying around, I'll go and get myself a copy of the Revelation collector's edition since they pop up on ebay fairly frequently, and I've even seen one or two in the stores. I might even try to get my hands on a copy of "From Myst to Riven" but that's talking major investment.

So, anyone able to help me out? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Ok, well, forget that! Talk about perfect timing!

Please ignore my previous request. Shortly after posting the above request, I found a copy of the Uru soundtrack on Ebay, and then the guy e-mailed me and told me he was about to list a copy of the revelation soundtrack as well! So just bought both of them!!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Thanks anyway everyone.

I found the URU soundtrack to be woefully incomplete (especially in light of the 2 expansion packs), so for me, the best soundtrack was the one I made with the ogg-vorbis loops from the game's install directory. It may not be a pretty pre-packaged setup, but it is EXACTLY what you hear in-game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Is there anyone willing to find out how much it would cost to buy and post the revelation soundtrack to <STRIKE>melbourne australia</STRIKE> Westcoast of Denmark, and then do that once I send the money? This is a similiar idea to back when Collector's editions were organised for the US fans.

I'll second that. If someone can get me a Myst IV revelation Soundtrack I€ll be forever in your debt. I live in Denmark northern Europe, and I can do a money transfer directly to your bank account.

Jnathus, yes there's a lot of music from the game that doesn't make it into the soundtrack.

Even if it doesn't have everything though, it's still an hour of beautiful music. I had to do a lot of cooking the other day, so just listened to my myst soundtracks one by one. Brilliant. I'll be first in line to hear what Tim Larkin's got for us on the Myst 5 soundtrack.

larsschermer, check out ebay regularly because they do show up there from time to time, though not too often. There's even a wish lish or "wanted" service on ebay that'll let you know when items roughly like what you're looking for turn up.

I'll keep an eye out and let you know otherwise.

Other than that, anybody in the US want to help lars out? You should remember how you felt when the collector's edition wasn't released over there. That's how we nonamericans feel about the soundtrack. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

As I said, I bought my "MYST IV" Soundtrack for 29 Euro (incl. shipping) at http://www.synsoniq.de
It's a german Webshop specialized on Game-Soundtracks.

They sell:

MYST: 17,95 Euro
Riven: 17,95
Myst Exile: 24,95
Myst 4: 29,95
Uru: 19,95

They ship outside Germany but unfortuneatly the Myst 3 and Myst 4 Soundtrack is sold out. You should contact them - maybe you have luck and theres a CD left or they got a new delivery.

Thank you but I wouldn€t have asked if they were available. I mailed Synsoniq and they don€t have them and don€t know IF or when they will get any again. they only imported a small number when it came to my atention they were all gone.

larsschermer...Please try & read between the lines...

Do you want the actual - official released CD or "the" CD that could be a result of Revelator? Which frankly can be far better...

I want the official CD. not the ripped stuff i got that. I just have a gaping hole in my collection and it just bug's me. Call me obsessive. Also normaly the music for games is suited for the game's enviroment, whereas the music on a CD has been mastered to acomadate another scenario.

so again can someone get me a REVELATION cd soundtrack?

Thanks lars,

That's all I needed to know. That would certainly bug me 2! I can probably get the official MYST IV soundtrack out to you... the question is...how long can you wait?! I have an eBay account so I wouldn't mind "selling" to you via PayPal. Otherwise I'll need you to send me a check or money order. Let me know what you think...

By the way... in my opinion of course...a CD that can be put together via Revelator is far better than the official soundtrack. Yes there is final mastering to consider but.. the tracks off the DVD have also been mastered (prior to a final CD mastering for soundtrack... yes)...bottom line...you can get more music, sounds, as well as implement dialogue...be creative, convert files & it is still pretty good quality all for NOTHING! I actually engineer (master) music so for whatever it is worth... that's my take on it!

All that to say... I know where you're coming from & again it would still bug me something awful if I didn't have the actual/official soundtrack as well! It is obsessive!
