What's all this talk about lack of references to build models in the game? Why would you include a flyable "Betty" or "Jill" without enough pics or drawings?

Adding ships in game would have been SO much easier than some of these aircraft. Flyable KI-100's in game-who approves something like that when there is no "Kate" or "Tojo"? A flyable "Mossie" to attack what, a "Matilda" looking like a "Tiger"? And don't get me started about the Gotha.

Again Online players are the most vocal around the forums, but again offliners are the silent majority and the ones who will bring the $$ in to keep this series going!

I hope in the next game 1C will not keep changing FM/DM or the effectiveness of the 20/151 and losing valuable hours on more "important" aspects of the game.

This is not WB or CFS3-those are weighted to online play. Offliners need different targets i.e. ships to attack and to add to the immersion factor.

And to conclude my rant, I'm glad BOB is the priority now and I just hope the right people are in charge of the right parts of the game!!

I only play offline & I will continue to only play offline.

This forum is really funny...'give us a flyable torpedo bomber!!!' or 'Where's the flyable 'Kate' or Jill?'. Now it is being questioned why these planes were assigned without adequate pics and drawings?

You will be lucky if all the references you got agree much less are detailed enough for virtual 3D replication. If its not there will be a series of rants again about 'Why the Type 90 Mk.1 bombsight is wrong for this plane year'.

Finally you got only the Empire of Japan to blame in most cases since they destroyed and burned most documentations and those that exist you cannot access.

What's a "'Matilda' looking like a 'Tiger'"? Are you talking about tanks?

Sharkey you must appreciate that a lot of the aircraft included in this game have been modelled by third party modellers which accounts for the variety we have.

Yes there are gaps/aircraft we would all love to see but lets be thankful for what we do have. This game has had tremendous support from oleg and his team, we have had very few paid add ons and lots of free aircraft added in patches.

Nobody here is ungrateful and I've always been full of praise for the outstanding support that Oleg and his crew have given us.

It just seems that PF has become the runty child of the litter. Anybody who has a merged installation isn't too put out but the standalone folks have been hung out to dry with emaciated fleets and small maps. Remember... people criticise because they LIKE the sim, if they didn't they wouldn't be here. It seems the mods haven't figured that out and get nervous anytime someone questions the process.

its not about being grateful or ingrateful...
its not about being fanboys or whiners...
its not about this being a flight sim with boats vs. a naval sim with planes...

its about accuracy...its about detail...

these are two things Oleg has pinned to his chest and for the most part its undeniably present throughout this sim..however..when you make those claims but fall short to the degree that PF has (I have to agree that their are not enough ships and that some of the ones that are included in PF are out of place)...then there is going to be a natural amount of justifiable grousing.

Now I know Oleg could not have forseen that Ilya would rather be selling Nokias' in a kiosk at the local strip mall than working on 3D models and textures for 1c...or that UBI would capitulate a handsome sum of Olegs money to the first N/G carpetbagging lawyer that tossed them a threatening email...but....
A deal is a deal...and Ilya spouted on and on about all the ships (accurate) and all the planes (Avenger included) and etc..etc..that PF would have. However, in reality, there is a good deal less to PF than there should be.

I am not - not - going to say that I am dissappointed because I am not.

I am not going to say that PF is done - because it is not.

And I will not be surprised if, over the course of this year...much of what we see as lacking will be corrected or at least addressed to the best extent allowable given the circumstances.

FB/PF is an awesome product and it has the best possible developer overseeing it.

We are still in good hands, people. Be patient.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am just STILL very dissappointed that PF didn't get as much lovin' as FB-AEP http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

There is no such thing as a "finished" World War 2 flight sim. And there never will be.

A WW2 Fighter Sim is much easier to "finish" than a WW2 combat flight sim.

Sounds like BoB will move in the direction of WWIIonline (Oleg has been spotted around there too) if it's playable online only.

On the other hand, I wonder if the same world will be modelled as that which exists now in WWIIonline. France, Belguim (Holland south of the Rhine) and Britain are already mapped in that game and the world is truly huge and gorgeous (and they have stuff like the Spit MkI and the Hawk 75 and the Dew 520 already modelled and flyable).

After having played in WWIIonline for some time, the physical world in FB + AEP + PF seems compressed at times in comparison.

Proze and cons to both games - but if BoB becomes online only then I too will be disappointed.
