I know some of you are going to say "Duh" but i see many posts asking how to shoot down the PE-8. Most say NOT to take on a PE-8 from the six but I find the weak spot is on the wing outboard the number 1 or number 4 engine. I've found that at 500m convergence a couple of one second bursts will take off the wingtip and bring one down. I'm including a couple of shots taken at a range closer than I normally use to show what I'm saying. hope ya'll enjoy this regardless.

With the quad mk108 in the me-262, all your problems are over. You won't even have to bother about convergence anymore. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I posted this morning about the PE-8, but it was about flying a Brewster not a 190. When your flying a 190 you don't have to pick a weakspot - it destroys anything from any angle with its heavy weapons. The problem is in the Brewster you can't stay on a PE-8's six for long enough to allow the .50's to cut the wing off. I'll give it a go tonight in the QMB and try different tactics to see if its true. Thanks for the pic.

You can blow off an outer wing in convergence but it's still very dangerous attacking a Pe-8 from 6 O'clock, especially with the 20mm cannons of FB 1.0.

I attack Pe-8s from 12 O'clock high and aim for the engines, if I'm flying a 190 or 109. Even the lightly armed 109F is capable of taking down 1-2 Pe-8s using this method.

If I'm flying the 262 I can attack from virtually any direction if my closing speed is fast enough, as even the AI turret gunners can't hardly track me.

I always come in high or low and as fast as possible.

JRJacobs, Nice tip. Ya know I've been in a habit of going for engines etc . It's good to be reminded that taking off the end of the wing will destabilize a plane enough to bring it down.

That's the Point . The key is speed. In any Plane, you only have to flig high over the Pe 8 and then dive in an 45‚? angle with very high speed on it . If you have a stabile Plane ( fe a 109 F4 ) you have to aim constantly a bit infront of a wing and fire, fire, fire till you dive under the Pe . The Gunners just wont hit you . If you try to fly like in EAW slow from the 6 and take our halfe a dozend of those M√¬∂belwagen, you dont have to wonder if they kill you quick. (But of course , the Gunners are far to acurate now )
