How to drop a torpedo?

Does someone know to set the waypoint for a torpedo bombing?

which altitude, and speed? and how far has to be the waypoint from the target?

I'm going crazy, i don't know why but the IL2T don't drop torpedo on the ship, they overcome the ship come back and drop it.

Use the set target button on the waypoint info in object view. After you press the button a green targeting cursor appears under your mouse pointer from the waypoint you last selected. Click once on the target object and it should work. Unfortunately I can not get the AI planes to stick to a proper torpedo launching profile of under 200 kph and 50 feet at release, they always gain alt and drop it nearly like a bomb at around 2-300 meters and from close range. Also the AI is not very good at tracking moving ships and aiming to intercept, but since they don't drop at long range they still get hits about 30-40 percent of the time.

I have been able to get the AI to skip bomb though, skip bombing is quite fun.

thanks for the answer.
i know how to use the editor, i know about set the target with the green line.

the problem is that maybe the il2 doesn't drop the torpedo because i put wrong parameters.
i tried with alt from 50 to 200 meters and speed from 200 to 300 kmh.
but always the don't drop it. the fly over the ship, go ahead, make a turn of 180? and then they drop the torpedo and sink the ship.

i want the drop the torpedo on the first passage, fly over the ship and then come back is not real and dangerous for the il2s.

You need to set a waypoint before and after the target at about 50 to 100 that is inline with your approach path [i.e. three points in a row with the target between the 2nd and 3rd point].

also it helps to test the mission with a static camera to watch at what point in the mission the flight path crosses the ships [if they're moving] -

finally I've noticed the planes LIKE to approach from a certain direction. usually south to north. After testing see if the ai's are trying to change the approach path and setup your waypoints to follow their direction of choice [ai's have a simplified FM and are dumber than rocks so they don't always do what you want, so you help them do what THEY want]
