Not sure if this has been mentioned already but this coming weekend in the Niagara region (of all places) is a small but mighty WW2 airshow.
The local private collection includes an original Bf 109e-7 documented to have been flown by Marseille in the BoB.

I hope this news is useful to others,I'll certainly be there at least for 2 days.

Cheers
Daz

Gak!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Only the fact that I'm getting married prevents me from scooting the missus into the car and driving to Niagara Falls this weekend! Hope some of you fellows get to go!

You're passing up this for marriage?

Man take it from me, you have your priorities mixed up! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Congrats anyways!

I mean really !! How many original Emil's can you see in the air versus available women? Do the numbers and decide.
Plus the wedding is only 1 day out of the 3 airshow days. You can't take just one of those days to do something for yourself!

Congratulations anyway, and yes I've been diagnosed as terminally single.

Thx for the weather update.I'm planning on going Fri and Sat.Sun I have to be back in Mississauga.I emailed asking if it's the same flying program for each day,but as of their reply yesterday they could'nt confirm - still waiting on Transport Canada's approval.
I'd like to bring my 75yr old mum on Friday as I feel it'd be less busy for her.She loves the roar of a good Merlin.Saturday will be for me and a good mate.
Looking forward to it.I aint seen a warbirds show since I was a lad back in the UK.
Cheers all.

Thanks jensenpark, dazako.

Terminally single means perpetually playing IL-2, right? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Besides, the missus is native Russian so is very understanding of my interest in Soviet aircraft, history and this sim developed in her home city. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I think this is one of a number of future planned operations.

I understand he wants to recreate (in some fashion) the feel of a 1940 era airbase.

Terminally single? Nah...terminally married with two young boys.
And a somewhat understanding wife for my Il2 affliction. At least it's something I've picked up that doesn't need a dose of penicillan to fix.

Dern, was hoping they would have a couple show's a year. I have a flight booked at the CWH in the Beech 18 on Saturday that I can't give up.

Well the 1st day was not without it's hitches, but me and my 75 yr old mum enjoyed ourselves. She was mostly concerned that she would'nt be able to get close enough when they fire up the engines, her favourite experience.
Well she got good and blasted by Merlin wind and dust a couple of times and was very happy, even tho she'd washed her hair earlier.
The Spit taxi'd back in citing a slight problem but the Hurri put on a nice show as did the 109e tho she was only briefly airborne.
Hopefully tomorrow will se all 3 in the air.
And all for $10.
Hoorah.

good to hear, you'll have to get mum down to warplane heritage in hamilton on father's day (its not advertised much), they put most of thier birds (lancaster included!), used to have an international show but unfortunately it was apparently losing over 100k/year, so now the museum just puts its a/c up. when the firefly fires up its griffon it is truly amazing to hear in person, when it is idling it doesnt sound like its hitting on all cylinders but it is http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

it would be nice if these two groups could get together!

looks like good flying weather tommorrow, 24 deg mix of sun and cloud

also; enjoy your flight altstiff, i won a raffle at thier airshow for a flight in the harvard about 10 yrs ago, not a bad deal for 5 bucks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Arms1, seen the B-25 last year at the CWH get fired up for the first time in a long while last year.

I shot this video with my crappy little camera and have yet to convert by good one but this will suffice.

saw that when you first posted it ty for giving link again, many people do not realise how lucky we are having CWH here and now this Russell Group taking care of these wonderful aircraft.

other than dropping my change in the box at the beer store or crappy tire all of my charitable donations for the year go to CWH, nice to know that i paid for 2 seconds of the lancs fuel consumption so that some kid or old vet can feel the same excitement that i do when when it fly's by, always think that thats my help when it fly's past.

i hope i'm still around when the lizzy makes its first post restoration flight; won't that be something!
