That's not a bug, that's a Fw-548-D-5 high altitude spider intercepter.

My God, that thing has even hairier legs than me!

That's not a bug, it has eight legs, making it an arachnid. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Correct stansdds! Definitely an arahcnid!

I think it is beautiful, but then I am an arachnologist by profession!

I work on European spiders, but this looks like a Nephila (Golden orb-web spider).

I can see where threads like this are a definite improvement on real bug threads. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah, whatever... after all it has more arms/legs than me, ... which makes me very suspicious of it.

I hope those spiders are modelled correctly irl, esp with correct damage model ...

I think bug can mean any small nuisance... whereas insect is class of arthropod animals.

If it's not a bug then it must be a feature.

For me, bugs=terrestrial arthropods:

- Insects: Six legs, three parts: cephalus-thorax-abdomen, simple or composite eyes, complex mouths, antennas, posible folding or non-folding wings (up to two pairs). Fleas, ants, bees, locust, flies, beetles, roaches, dragonflies, butterflies, wasps, and a long etc...

- Arachnids: Eight legs, pedipalps (trasformed first pair of ten legs), quelicers (jaws), two parts: cephalothorax-abdomen, several pairs of simple eyes. Spiders, scorpions, acarids...

- Miriapodes: Segemented long body, one or two pairs of legs for every segment, simple design, head with jaws. Millipedes, centipedes...

You can also add worms and molusks (snails), but these are not arthropods at all.
