I think I have a small piece of video of this dog. I have a small avi file of some iar80's flying around for a camera plane, from a newsreel of the time.

I have visited that site many times, and even downloaded the entire thing to a disc. It is a terrific reference.

That must have took a lot of concentration (or disconnection) on the part of the pilot: After all, wouldn't a dog be a distraction in the cockpit, especially when violent evasive action is required, and poor old bow-wow had neither seat belt or parachute?

Wow as I see some quotas from one of article "The nimbler IAR-81C proved to be more than a match for the Lightning at that altitude. Within this short time span, 14 P-38s were shot down. The Romanian pilots claimed 23"

Here's a pic of another pet that may have flown some combat missions!!

http://baseclass.modulweb.dk/69giap/fileadmin/69_giap_private/images/He111-5.jpg

I also saw a picture the other day of a fighter pilot and his pet cockerel, and the caption said that he flew with it in his cockpit. I think he was also romanian, and I'm not sure, but I think the aircraft was a 109.

I can't find the url unfortunately, was a bizarre pic!!

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!
