OK, i'm flying ALOT of Zero's now addays, and some KI's some now and then, but the thing is, Zero, looses it's wing, but in the KI, about 75% of the time i get critical hit, u can bet it's a pilot kill....and in the Zero, only about 10% acounts for a pilot kill, so i'm wondering....did the KI have more crappy pilot protection then the Zero?????

Question: Did you back-up your files?
Answer: I didn't know they had a reverse...

I've wondered the same thing. It seems a little odd as the KI was designed mostly as a bomber interceptor and should have had the pilot better armored.

Go figure.

It's more like.. the Ki is much tougher (arguably maybe too tough) structurally than the Zero, so with more bullets being absorbed, the probability (and necessity) for killing the pilot goes up as well.

Seems pretty straight forward to me?

the kill ususaly hapends at first burst from a plane, or atleast, the first burst that hit's the plane.

most often from the side or top

Exactly.

You're noticing that "PKs" are your main type of death because the Ki holds up otherwise much better than the Zero. In a short/sustained burst, the Zero is going to blow up almost immediately, whereas the Ki can absorb a healthy amount of punishment.

Hence, if the pink juicy middle part gets shot, despite the rest of the aircraft being flyable.. that's the end of the road, regardless.

PKs in FB are a little screwy, lets be honest

More than once I have ben PK'd in an He 111 from a fighter flying and firing from (no pun intended) dead astern...

So these bullets or shells had go travel through most of the airframe, and then through the armored pilot's seat of the 111...

Perhaps ot impossible, but very very unlikely that any object will go through the length of a 111...but to do that, and then through the armored seat?

If anyone has ever the German bombers armored seats IRL, in the he111s, ju88s, do17s, etc...even the fw 189, you would know this is impossible!

The FB PK can be almost as silly as some of the collisions that happen, with only one plane damaged...
